Question about Braun Aromaster KF 400 Coffee Maker

1 Answer

NO POWER The coffee maker's power light comes on, but it won't make coffee or heat the burner. I did find later that the stove wasn't working, where the coffee maker was plugged in, and found that one of the cartridge fuses for the stove had blown. When that was changed the stove worked, but the coffee maker still did not. I love my Braun and have only had it for about a year. So, it shouldn't be junk already. Help?

Don't know anything about fuses, but my KF400 just stopped working in the middle of making coffee. The power light is still lit, when I turn it on, but the machine doesn't doo anything.

I've had two of these units for my office at work and they both stopped working after about two years. The indicator lights up but the plate does not heat.

There are 4 electrical parts
1 switch
2 thermal switch (keeps heater at around boiling temperature)
3 thermal fuse (will break if thermal switch gets stuck on, to prevent fire)
4 heating element (the hotplate and surrounding tube that boils water)

since the switch lights and hot plate is not hot then it is #2,3 or 4 that is not working.
it is most likeley the thermal switch which is not too expensive to replace.

check the thermal switch by disconnecting it from the wires. at room temperature the thermal switch should be closed. test with a meter set on resistance.

if it is not that check the thermal fuse in the same way, it should also be closed.

if those test ok and the heating element is bad (doubtful) then get another machine and save this for parts

Coffee pot won`t turn on.It`s getting power because the clock is running and the 1 to 4 button lights, but when I toggle it to on the red light does not come on.

It is possible the heating element is burnt out, or the safety fuse has been fried and is opened not allowing power to the element.

Won't even turn on. Was flashing cup size lights on left & right and I turned it off and later tried to turn it on and it won't turn on.

Hi,

The problem is often that the machine develops a leak in the hose that is rightover the transformer...the water drips onto the transformer and kills that...then you have no power to run the machine.

Here is a tip that I wrote about this problem...

WE have a GE Stove top Range. The burners aren't

If you have power to the stove as in the oven light works and the clock works but the burners and oven will not work you only have 120 volts coming to the stove. The stove requires 240 volts for the burners and oven to work. Check the service panel for a blown fuse. There will be 2 fuses in the fuse holder. One of them is blown. If that is not the case then one of the wires has come loose either in the service panel or in the outlet behind the stove. Use a multimeter to check the input voltage at the outlet.

I have a kenmore stove whose burners wont light. oven works fine. burners will spark but no gas comes out. recently I turned off the power to the stove by turning the fuse off. what do I need to do to get...

If the gets give no gas then sounds like a Thermocouple, this is a device that allows the gas to come on after a period of time ensuring that the pilot is lit and heated up this thermocouple, once it heats it then allows gas to enter and ignite the main burner..hope this helps ,please leave feedback.

CHECK THE BLACK WIRE COMING OFF THE BOTTOM TERMINAL OF THERMOSTAT FOR VOLTAGE, IT SUPPLIES POWER FOR THE WARMER SWITCHES. THE 'READY TO BREW' LIGHT IS PROBABLY A BAD BULB.

Burners not working and stove only heating up to MAYBE 100 degrees

Had a similar problem...it was the power coming into the house and the ground wire was badly connected. The power company checked out the lines feeding the house and discovered the problem. Its caused by the fact you are trying to heat the stove with only one line...when, you need two. Check the house circuitry.

My brewStation 47214 stopped pumping water today, even though the warming element continued to get hot. A half dozen screws later I discovered a second heating element inside the coffee maker. The internal element is what heats the water and forces it into the basket. This element was burned out, religating my brewstation to the garbage. Probably last 3+ years.
