Question about Philips Magnavox 32PS55S 32" TV

1 Answer

Actually, I have an 29PT468A

I am unable to use the video inputs at the top rear of the set. Using the AV button on the remote I can only get the standard analog input and then Video 1 and Video 2. Should I get an OSD message that says Front or is there another video channel that I can't find?

This should be the 'camcorder' position. It is after Video 2 as you go through the channels.

How to I change the video input? i.e. I got a digital TV box and need to put it to video input 1. How?

  • On the back of your TV are all your inputs/outputs.
  • On the far left is your Video 1 Input.
  • The top input is your Video (Yellow AV cord)
  • The middle input is your Left Audio (White AV Cord)
  • The bottom input port is for your right Audio (Red AV Cable)
  • After you have all the AV cord up as I have explained then push the "TV/Video" button on the remote until "Video 1" appears on the screen.
  • In the event you should want to use Video 2 sometime then hook the cords up the same way except in the Audio 2 port in the back of the TV.
  • Each time you press the "TV/Audio" button you will cycle through the Inputs until you come back around to TV.

  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.

Can you hook up a DVD player to this TV? It is a DTQ 13V5FC purchased in 2003.

I took a look at the specs for this set, and it has both front- and rear-panel audio and video input jacks. There's a button marked "VIDEO" on the remote that switches to the AV input so you can watch what you have connected. So yes, you can hook up a DVD player, but there are some limitations.

This isn't a stereo TV, so you'll need a Y-adapter (like this one from Radio Shack) to combine the right and left channel sound from the DVD player into a single mono input for the TV. This means you'll lose any stereo effects from the DVD. Also, even though there are two sets of AV input jacks, the TV can only use one at a time. You can't select the front or rear input separately.

Hope this helps. Thanks for using Fixya!

I can hear the tv but no picture.. i remove the red, yellow, and white cord from the back of the tv to dust...pls help.. Apex tv brand

Hi! Welcome to Fixya!

If you are unable to view video on your television set, the issue may be that the TV's video input selection does not match.

The TV input source must match how the equipment for example DVD is connected to the TV.

* Plug the RCA cables(red, yellow, white cord) to the designated ports.
* Grab your Apex TV remote and attempt to cycle through the video inputs by hitting the "Input" button at the top of the remote multiple times.
* If you have used a DVD player or similar external device recently, you may have neglected to switch the video input back to the one assigned to your TV programming.
* Devices such as DVD players often reside on the AV 1 or AV 2 video input, and failure to switch back off of one of these will result in a dark, soundless screen when attempting to view cable or satellite television.
* Cycle through the inputs until you land on your cable/satellite input once more, which should result in an immediate restoration of picture and sound.
* If it does not, approach your Apex TV and look over the A/V cable connections. The A/V cable has two sets of prongs, one on either of its ends. Each prong is either red, yellow and white, and plugs into corresponding A/V ports on the back of the Apex TV and the back of your cable or satellite box. Make sure the ports and prongs are color-corresponding and have not been switched up.

Thank you for using FixYa. Keep me posted. :

I have a Wii. I have connected the video wires to the ports on back but cannot see a picture. How do I change it to the video screen? I have no remote. Do I need a remote to do this?

Welcome to fixya

I have a solution for this

The AV Multi Out plug that is included with the Wii will allow you to connect the console to most TVs or VRCs. First, look at the back of your television AND your VCR and see if you have colored holes label "Input". Though most TVs have them, almost all VCRs do as well. If you are unable to find a set of yellow, red, and white AV inputs on the back of your TV, try looking on the sides, top, and bottom of the TV. Look for any hidden panels or doors as well. Connecting to a Television Audio/Video (AV) inputs are typically located on the back of the TV, but occassionally are on the sides, top, or bottom. Look for inputs marked Audio and Video IN. Do NOT connect your system to anything marked OUT. Don't see these inputs on your TV? Click here. Insert the AV Multi Out plug on the Wii AV Cable into the AV Multi Out connector on the back of the console Insert the DC plug on the Wii AC Adapter cord into the DC Input connector on the back of the Wii console. Insert the AC plug into a 120V AC wall outlet CAUTION: To prevent electric shock, match the wide blade of the plug to the wide slot and insert fully into the outlet. Plug the transformer into the wall outlet. The Sensor Bar can be placed either above or below your TV screen. Decide which option best fits you and click the image below for additional set up help, including mounting the Sensor Bar and proper alignment.

Tv magnovox tv

firstly try that tv to a different tv
if this works
then check your tv av connections in side tv
also check cables continuity
if this fails buy a AV/ RF converter, have your AV be connected to a converter, and let your output be RF feed to a tv, RF input, so instead of using AV on your tv you will be using RFchannel mode

Universal remote works for basics but won't change input

Rich,

good day , what button can you see infront of your TV screen?

Not familiar with this model but if you'll manage to locate a button marked as "TV/AV" or "AV" press this button until it the display switch to A/V mode (audio/video). Or if this is a really old model, from Tuner mode or channel model. set the channel station to 1 then press the " - channel " button and see if it will change from tuner mode to A/V mode

cheers,
mark

S video

If your tv has S-video on the unit then yes you can plug it in from your S-Video out on your laptop. You will have to change the input on the tv. This will be done by hitting the TV/AV button on the remote, that is assuming this is an ORION stv2762. Otherwise it will be an Input, TV/Video, or AV button, or source . IF you have none of these then it could be as simple as pressing the Channel button down until you reach the AV channel. Make sure the laptop is on and then try changing through input's until you see the screen change to what the laptop shows. If you have more questions about this let me know.

Durabrand 13" tv model BH1304D

You will need the original remote control I,m afraid. The original remote is the Durabrand HYF-23A. On the original remote, incase you do have one, is a button marked TV/AV. That is the button that changes between the TV and the Audio/video inputs. An original replacement remote can be purchaed HERE: http://www.remotes.com/remotes/servlet/rs?a=gmi&smodel=BH1304D&brand_pn=DURABRAND_BH1304D&mode=large&uid=11831222740150 Good Luck
