Installing ink cartridges:
Make sure that the machine is turned on, lift the
Scanning Unit (Printer Cover) with both hands, then pull the Scanning
Unit Support (A) down into place.Take out a new cartridge from its casing and gently remove the orange protective tape in the direction of the arrow.Note: - Do not attempt to reattach the protective tape once you have removed it.do not touch the gold electrical contacts or the print head nozzles after removing the protective tape.Insert the ink cartridge into the ink cartridge holder.- Black: the left slot- Color: the right slot*
black cartridge and one color cartridge must be installed in the
machine in order for the printer to operate. It does not matter if the
capacities (Standard or High) do not match.
Push up on the front of the
cartridge until it locks into place. (A click sound will be heard when
the cartridge is locked in place.)Confirm that the ink cartridges are installed properly.OR
<1> The ink cartridge is not installed properly.
<2> The ink cartridge is installed properly.
Fold the scanning unit support and close the scanning unit (printer cover).
Wait until the preparatory operation is complete; it takes about one to two minutes.
Lift the Flat Bed Scanner up so that you can find the Cartridges Inside. Remove the Cartridges from the Printer. Move the Cartridge Carrier Back and Forth as fast as you can! Replace the Cartridges back to the Printer! Good Luck!!!!
Try this procedure: 1. Open printer lid so cartridges move to center of carriage.
2. Lift clamp and remove black or color cartridge from the holder.
3. Place cartridge on table with copper contact strip facing you.
4. Carefully place a strip of clear plastic tape over the four contacts on the upper left corner of the cartridge.
5. Reinstall cartridge in printer and close lid. Wait until cartridge returns to parking position.
6. Open lid and remove cartridge again. Remove tape from left side and
place tape over four contacts at upper right corner of cartridge.
7. Reinstall cartridge in printer and close lid. Wait until cartridge returns to parking position again.
8. Open lid again, remove cartridge, remove tape.
9. Reinstall cartridge and close lid.
Printer will now recalibrate. Once the process is complete the ink level meter should be reading full again.
I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.
Hi, Although you got the paper out of the printer, there may still be some small pieces jammed under the print head. You may have to manually move the print head to get at the small pieces. You need to make sure the printer is unplugged before you try this. Once the carriage seems to move freely plug the printer back in, it should move to the right where it will come to rest. You should go through the change ink process, but just take out the one that's already in there and then put it back in again. Also run the head cleaning, alignment, and print test utility before attempting to print. If you still are having problems there may still be pieces of paper stuck in the print head. In that case repeat the process again. I hope this helps you.

I had the same problem
it seems this printer (i don't know a lot about printers) has a lever that
holds the cartridge bay at the right for cartridge cleaning. If you move the
printer on the side or during a paper jam it can move this lever and get out of
sync with the cartridge bay cleaning process witch is when you power on the
printer and this problem may happen.
I took the top off the printer and noticed that when the cartridge bay wanted
to move to the left this lever wont go down holding it at the right and when it
did go to the left it was with some force so the cartridge bay was always out
of center (it supposed to be at the center when you turn on the printer
otherwise it will give an error message) so I pushed manually this lever at the
right (is hard to move but you can move it) and let the cartridge bay sit on the
cleaning pads at the right then turn off the printer. When I turned on the
printer, the cartridge bay returned to his proper routine and was centered so
the problem was solved. I hope it helps.
