Use glass cleaner on a rag and wipe the screen that way. Doing it this way will allow you to clean the screen without getting excess anywhere else where it might leak into the screen.

How should we clean our TV screen from finger prints?

To clean your TV correctly, follow these steps:
  1. Turn the LED TV off, let it cool for a few minutes, and then unplug the TV.
  2. Clean the frame of your LED TV with a microfiber cleaning cloth.
  3. To clean the screen, first try wiping gently with the microfiber cleaning cloth. If that does not work, spray luke-warm water directly onto the microfiber cleaning cloth. Never spray anything directly onto your TV screen.
  4. Wipe the screen with the microfiber cleaning cloth as gently as possible. LED TV screens are fragile and can be damaged if you press too hard.
  5. Let the screen dry completely before you plug the TV back in.

How do I clean the screen?

Disconnect the power to your TV before you clean it each time.
Choose either lukewarm water or a cleaning solution to clean your TV. Commercial cleaning kits that include both a cloth and cleaning solution are available. These cleaning solutions are specially formulated to clean flat screen TVs and monitors safely and are specifically labeled safe for "laptop screen" or "LCD screen." If you wish to use a solution, you must use one of these.Dampen a soft cloth (preferably chamois, micro fiber or 100 percent cotton) with either the lukewarm water or cleaning solution. Just a gentle wiping of the screen is enough. Rubbing, scrubbing and hard pressure can damage the screen.

How should I clean it

You should use a dry, soft, non-static cloth to remove dust from the screen. And, YES, the unit should be turned off before you clean it. Halos are usually caused by pressing too hard on the flexible screen covering when cleaning or by static electricity (VERY BAD!!) from your cloth.

If you should ever need to clean the screen more thoroughly than a dry cloth will do, dampen your cloth with clean water and wring out completely (the cloth should only feel damp...not wet) and use that to clean the screen. NEVER use any sort of household cleaner on the screen, such as ammonia, liquid glass cleaners, or detergents. The screens are tough but more liable to become damaged through incorrect cleaning.

Things You’ll Need:

* Television screen cleaning products
* Cleaning schedule
* Microfiber cleaning cloth

Clean Your HDTV Screen Properly
Step1
Read the warning labels on all your household cleaning products. Even glass cleaners might not be suitable for use on an HDTV screen, so check the manufacturer's warnings before you apply anything to the screen.
Step2
Keep chemical cleaners away from your HDTV on cleaning day. The harsh chemicals found in most common cleaning products will actually cause more harm than good.
Step3
Leave liquid cleaners under your sink when cleaning your HDTV screen. A liquid cleaner, whether it be water or a chemical cleaner, will drip down the screen and work its way into the interior of the TV, causing damage to your HDTV. You will be able to easily recognize when this happens, because your screen will develop smudges.
Step4
Use a cloth to clean the HDTV screen. Ideally, you should use a cloth that is recommended for HDTV screens, computer screens and other electronics. The word "microfiber" may be imprinted on the packaging.
Step5
Wet the microfiber cloth slightly. Just a hint of dampness is all you need. If water runs out of the cloth, then it's too wet and will cause smudges.
Step6
Develop a regular cleaning schedule for your HDTV screen. If you dust the screen daily, or at least several times a week, with your microfiber cloth, no other maintenance should be necessary. Not only will frequent cleanings make caring for your HDTV easier, but they will also enhance your viewing experience.
Step7
Prevent messes by asking family members and guests not to touch the television screen. You should also try to make sure children with sticky fingers do not come in contact with the screen.
Step8
Use a high-end cleaning product if you feel that regular dusting is not sufficient. Top-of-the-line television cleaning products are ideal for use on all HDTV screens, plasma screens, projectors and are safe to use around children and animals.

If you are unsure if you have any special coatings, it is best to be safe and use the damp cloth.
  • CRT Rear-Projection - Before you can begin cleaning, you need to determine if you do, or do not have a screen shield. A screen shield is a hard plastic cover over the front of the TV screen.
