Use glass cleaner on a rag and wipe the screen that way. Doing it this way will allow you to clean the screen without getting excess anywhere else where it might leak into the screen.

Disconnect the power to your TV before you clean it each time.
Choose either lukewarm water or a cleaning solution to clean your TV. Commercial cleaning kits that include both a cloth and cleaning solution are available. These cleaning solutions are specially formulated to clean flat screen TVs and monitors safely and are specifically labeled safe for "laptop screen" or "LCD screen." If you wish to use a solution, you must use one of these.Dampen a soft cloth (preferably chamois, micro fiber or 100 percent cotton) with either the lukewarm water or cleaning solution. How should I clean it
You should use a dry, soft, non-static cloth to remove dust from the screen. And, YES, the unit should be turned off before you clean it. Halos are usually caused by pressing too hard on the flexible screen covering when cleaning or by static electricity (VERY BAD!!) from your cloth.

If you should ever need to clean the screen more thoroughly than a dry cloth will do, dampen your cloth with clean water and wring out completely (the cloth should only feel damp...not wet) and use that to clean the screen. NEVER use any sort of household cleaner on the screen, such as ammonia, liquid glass cleaners, or detergents. The screens are tough but more liable to become damaged through incorrect cleaning.
