Question about Foxconn 761GXK8MB-RS Motherboard

1 Answer

Failed POST I just finished building a new system with a Foxconn 761GXK8MB-RS motherboard and an AMD Athlon 64 3800+ proxessor. When I apply power, there is no response on the monitor and there is a single, repeating beep about every 3 or 4 seconds, no specific pattern. It has a 1gb DDR DIMM memory chip in place and a 320gb SATA drive. It has a new fan and heatsink and all connections have been triple checked. Have not been able to find a contact number for Foxconn to ask them questions. Thanks.  Ron

Foxconn uses the Award bios. One beep repeating means, check for improperly seated or missing memory. You can find that here. http://bioscentral.com/beepcodes/awardbeep.htm
Remove your memory & re-seat.

Good luck!

As long as it is an ATX compatible power supply increasing the available wattage is not an issue, only meeting MIMIMUM power requirements
You can go to a 500, or even a 750 as long as it has the correct motherboard connections

Does Foxconn 6100M2MA-RS2H Motherboard BIOS support AMD Phenom 64 X4 procesor ?

I'm afraid not. Foxconn 6100M2MA-RS2H has an AM2 Socket that only supports the following processors: AMD Sempron, Athlon 64,Athlon 64x2,Athlon 64FX. Phenom processors support AM2+ and AM3 socket motherboards. Hope this helps. Any vote will be appreciated. Thank you :)

I really am lost and in desperate need of help. I have just got hold of a Foxconn 761GXK8MB-RS Mobo and installed it, all drivers went on fine but for some reason i cant get any sound to play. A friend...

If you're running Windows XP with service pack 3, your problem is actually a problem with service pack 3. Microsoft has in fact corrected the problem, so making sure that you've downloaded and installed all the updates will solve the problem. Let me know if this doesn't help, and we'll troubleshoot a little more.

Hi jdnimrod,
This is not you're first post about the Foxconn mother board.
You have an issue with the PS2 keyboard as well. This Foxconn model ( 761GXK8 you listed ), is not 100% correct.
Please check this link:

Find which is you're board.
Than post back into this answer.
It is important you run the exact CPU that is compatible with the mother board.
