SOURCE: Igniter will not turn off once burners are lit.

The knob swtch is the problem /long time of use that gas stove / the small particles inside the knob are being form a conductor to line that line that hat being ignited once you ignite conductance will flow current to bypass switch /"need to clean knob switch."

SOURCE: Jenn-Air Gas Cooktop Model CVGX2423

Just had this problem today on our seven or eight year old Jenn-Air cooktop. When using the front right burner all ignitors would continue to fire until I turned off the burner. The three other burners worked correctly. After trying all the obvious soulutions w/o success I pulled off that burners control knob and the rubber seal which exposed the valve. Their was a bunch of crud in there. I put a small (one inch) paint brush in there and vigorusly loosened all the crud. I then inserted the nozzle of our central vac - which just happened to fit perfectly - and sucked all the stuff out. I repeated the proceedure a couple more times, reassembled the knob and started the burner. Worked just perfectly!!! YMMV. Good luck.

SOURCE: MAYTAG GAS COOKTOP IGNITER PROBLEM only 2 igniters spark

Hello
Check and make sure that the electric sending units to the side that it's not sparking ( Left side or Right side) are good, you can check that by replacing the one that works with the one that does not. they are located under the knobs on the switch rod, it's very simple, they just sit there with 2 wires, just lift and unplug the wires and replace with the good ones, and if they start clicking when you turn the knobs, then just replace the bad ones with new ones.
Hope this help

SOURCE: Jenn-Air JDG8430 Ignitor won't stop sparking after burner ignites

Test the ignitor first, if the ignitor does not spark should be the ignitor itself.

One front burner ignites but the igniters continue to spark. when all other burners ignite the igniters immediately stop sparking. this problem started right after spilling some water on burner.

I would make sure you have wiped up all the water you spilled, You may need to take the burners off the stovetop and make sure the tiny little pinholes for the gas to come out are fully dry, Than re-assemble everything and try again.

Jenn Air Gas cooktop burner ignition

Hi JHMcdona

Most likely the electrode for the right burner is defective. As well as the switch may also be defective (is shorted because of pressing hard on it trying to make it work!!). Change the electrode and igniter switch of the right front burner.

Viking Gas Burner issue?

is this a sealed burner unit? if so the burner base (the heavy brass part under the burner cap) has to be sitting just right. you will notice that it has holes around the the sides make sure that where your ignitor sparks to it that it aligns with the lowest hole on the burner base. if you have a great flame all around the burner after checking what i mentioned i would replace the spark module. if it continues to drive you crazy with the noise - just unplug it. the burners will continue working fine without power.
