Question about HIS X1300 RADEON X1300 PCIe 512MB (128 MB) PCI Express Graphic Card

1 Answer

Radeon x1300 graphics card running on Vista.

2 Gb of RAM, graphics card shows to be running correctly, all graphics are sluggish and slow since I replaced the onboard graphics with the Radeon x1300. Performance rating dropped from 3.1 to 2.4 then back up to 2.8 after I removed some things and lightened the start up program list. I have disabled the original driver for the onboard graphics, installed the x1300 correctly (as far as I can tell), and have upgraded it as necessary (I think). What do I do now? Please help.

Hello there,

You can try to download the updated driver from ATI's website. Make sure that you are downloading the correct version for your operating system.

If you plan to change the graphics card, then go in for a card that has a lot of dedicated RAM. Not shared. You may be able to do with 2 GB RAM on your PC. Ask the dealer specifically.

As far as I am aware, you can not run an ATI card in the same system as an Nvidia card due to driver conflicts.

ATI Radeon X1300 wont work with my Vista 32 bit

Try this.

Download the unified Radeon drivers from ATI's website... do not use Windows update. Get the Drivers Only package. for Vista 32-bit

If you can get to the desktop:
Uninstall the existing display drivers by using the remove hardware utility. Whatever they are... remove them. Reboot. Windows will try to reinstall the drivers on the next boot. If it allows you cancel the installation at any time during install do it. Run the downloaded package from ATI. Reboot.

If you can't get to the desktop:
Press F8 when booting and enter safe mode with networking. Download the ATI drivers from ati.com for Vista 32-bit.
Uninstall the display drivers. Reboot. Should take you to the desktop on the next boot so you can run the install program.

Driver for my video card

Here is where you can get your driver. It's for WinXP but you can get the one for Vista if you need. Didn't know if you wanted the software suite that goes along with it but that can be downloaded from same page as well. Enjoy! If this fixes your prob, please rate me a big 4 fix ya. Thanks.
