Samsung B1113J "error code EA"

Called samsung support they said this error msg was to do with the 'auto sensor'. I would like to know where the auto sensor is located?

Both wires that are connected to the brushes seem to be fine, I had a look around at some of the other wires and they look good too. Has for the first reply; both red wires are showing 150 ohms. It seems I'm still at a loss. Thanks for the help.

A Tech I called said auto sensor was the tach on the motor.

Check for proper resistance across pins 3&4 at the motor plug (2 red wires). Should be 150 ohms.

If proper resistance, could check connections at board and board itself.

Though I wonder what the error would be if the motor wasn't turning and this looked like an error with the tach. Would this this be an EA error too?

Update: I ended up calling a repair guy to come and fix the EA error on my Samsung B1113J. He found one of the wire connection terminals on the motor had cooked at the connection to the brushes (not at the big white plug). Probably due to a lousy connection. He soldered a wire with a male connector end on it directly onto the old brush connection tab (which was half melted away). He plugged the old wire into the new wire and this worked like a charm.

The EA error comes because the motor never turns and the thing times out.

He accessed the bottom of the unit by pulling out from the wall and tipping the unit backwards against the wall. Careful it doesn't come all the way down though!

So my Samsung B1113J has gone on the fritz again. Same problem (I didn't actually note the error on the display). Won't turn after the water has filled. I am really tied up at work so I have called the repair guy to come and fix it. I wish I could remember who did it last time.

This washing machine is really a piece of junk. This is the 4th time it has needed repair in the seven years of ownership. My mom's Maytag ran for about 35 years and then she got rid of it just to upgrade to a front loader.

Modern design/manufacturing practices are pathetic. The way items are designed to fail is contributing to our ever increasing waste of energy and resources.

I suspect your problem is solved one way or another but here is what was wrong with my machine for the benefit of other readers. I also had the EA error code.

One of the brushes for the motor was stuck and wouldn't keep contact with whatever it is called that it is supposed to keep in contact with. I removed the motor, removed the brushes and found that one of them would not come out all the way. Even pulling on it didn't get it to move so I pushed and tapped it and then it sprung out. I gave it a few swipes with 600 grit emery cloth and it would move freely after that. I put it all back together and jumped around for joy when the drum started turning after it filled with water.

I hope this helps someone else because Samsung wasn't very helpful and when they finally referred me to a repair guy that would come to see the machine, he said he didn't know what the problem was and suggested replacing the motor and the computer board which was very expensive. He said I would be better off buying a new machine. I didn't know what I was doing and the repair took less than 1.5 hours including getting ready and cleaning up afterward.

What causes a Samsung dishwasher to flash heavy and smart auto on control panel

Hello. The lights you describe are an error code that means over-level filling (overflow condition) and/or the leakage sensor underneath has detected water. You need to check underneath the unit for any moisture. There is a leakage sensor located at the center of the base, underneath the unit. If it detects water, it will notify the main board which will stop the unit until the condition is cleared.

Blinking lights auto and normal

High Temp Error
This error is generated by the thermistor staying at a temp of 80c or higher for more than 3 seconds.

The ECS sensor or mainboard should be replaced. both easy to replace and parts are not that expensive. you can easily find the parts online. past experience states that the ECS sensor has either failed or is all dirty from food crud as it is located in the sun of the unit.

Low water level

I have a Samsung DMT400RHS and I started getting the low water level error ('Normal'+Heavy'+Smart Auto' LED blinking). The error started intermittently a few weeks ago, but the the last day or two the problem was solid, and simply restarting the cycle no longer worked.
I looked of the code in the dishwasher user guide and it said 'low water level.' Searched the internet and located the repair manual at tradebit.com for $15. The manual was well worth the $15.
The manual suggested: 1) loose level sensor connector 2) Faulty Assy case sensor or stuck floater aka 'remove foreign matter' 3) Bad Main PBA assy.
Since we do 10+ loads a week for the last 18 months the stuck floater seemed to be the most likely cause.
Go to Samsung DMT400RHS Low Water Level Error ('Normal'+Heavy'+Smart Auto' LED) (new link is https://photos.google.com/album/AF1QipNtp1neOR7icVG8cSs71bLpxQD5k_xljiWcJD2P click the i on each picture to see the caption - DM 04/17/2016) to see the pictures and read the captions documenting what I did. Do this at your own risk. You must turn off and disconnect the electric power and turn off the water supply before you begin.
