Connecti9ng old speakers to new TV

bought a new TV and cannot connect my old surround sound speakers. The old TV had spring connections that I could fit the flying leads into. There are 8 wires terminating at the TV - basically positive and negative for each of the 4 speakers. Here's also a sub-woofer wired in somehow. All wires are under the carpet or in the wall so difficult to replace. Any suggestions welcome - cheers - John
