Question about Asko W6441 Front Load Washer

Asko W6441 Washer

My Asko W660 makes a horrible noise when turned on and it can't be stopped unless the power is turned off. I was able to get the fault indicator "Overflow" to come up after turning it on and off a few times. I've checked the trap and it was clear (oh and detached the red plastic pull that you use unlock the door manually and now have a string hanging, but that is another issue...).
The book says to call a Service Technician. I did, but he can't come for 10 days. Is there anything else I can try myself or I'm stuck with a visit to the laundromat?!
Thanks!!

Thanks greendude - this got me on the right track and I was able to fix it!! After I posted I discovered that a block in the house pipes (that's my tech term - ha!) caused the overflow in the washer. I got that fixed and still had the washer problem. I took your advice and tipped the machine back. Lo and behold the horrible noise stopped! I was able to start the machine... but, it wouldn't drain. Based on the "water outlet fault" I checked the trap and found nothing. Then I pulled the machine away from the wall and used my high speed tool (two coat hangers twisted together) to clear the water outlet hose. Nothing big came out... but hey, it works now and feel like superwoman! Thanks again :)

Tip machine back to see if water runs out, then see if it runs.but you may have a leak.also remove top panel and see if grey vent hose on rear of soap draw is leaking on drum end if so replace and glue.if water leaks from there it will damage the motor bearings ant the thermistor that sits above the motor.just tie the door release back on.look into the pump with a tourch, you may fin somthing still in there because if it cant drain it will over fill and cause on overflow fault.hope this helps

My Asko W6441 front load washer F3 message

Hello. You said that you checked the drain line for obstructions, but did you check the pump? I would remove the hoses from the pump and using a flashlight, look into the suction port on the pump. Check the pump for any obstructions (like the occasional stray sock) and check the pump impellers. Look for broken/missing blades and ensure that the impeller spins freely. If there are missing/broken blades or if you cannot get the impeller to spin freely, the pump is defective. You may have already done this, and if so I apologize. Anyway, hope this helped and best wishes.
