Malber WD800 - Will not fill

I have a Malber WD800 that I hook up via my kitchen sink. Lately the pump makes a loud buzzing/grinding noise as if it's trying to draw in water but it takes several minutes before the water starts to fill.

Any advice on how to fix this?

Thanks you very much for the advice. It sounds exactly right. I'm going to keep an eye/ear on the inlet valve and will try switching them once the valve is too far gone. Thanks again!

My washer dryer makes a buzzing noise and doesn't fill with water as easily, the water comes in after some time.
also, now the dryer is running very hot and doesn't seem to drain as easily either.
Let me know if you tried the solution included in the previous response.
    Thanks,

I finally replaced the valve over the weekend and the machine is running like new. I don't run the dryer so I don't know if it was causing problems there. Thank you pete5runner for the assist.

My malber sounds like a jet plane lifting off at various points during the cycle, when it's spinning, I am pretty sure.  Any ideas?

The thing making noise is probably the inlet valve, not the pump. The pump pumps the used water out the drain hose. Anyway, if the noise happens when water is trying to come in, the inlet valve is probably faulty. Onw way to get around this without repair is this: If you are hooking up to the sink, that means you are using only one hose to the machine. The other inlet to machine is probably capped off. Remove the cap, and the hose to the respective inlets, and reverse. You will probably have to change your water temp selectors on the front of the machine. If this makes it run OK, then you can later buy an inlet valve and replace at your leisure. For parts call 718-767-7396 in NY. I hope they will ship to where you are. Good luck and let me know what happens.

I am glad the solution worked. The inlet valves usually don't actually break, but they do get clogged. If they can be taken apart and cleaned, they will probably work like new.

My washer fills and agitates, but when it gets to the rinse/spin cycle it stops and makes a loud grinding noise. Thanks for your time

If it doesn't drain the water after the wash cycle and the sound is more like a buzz then the first thing that I suggest you check is the lid switch. If the lid switch is damaged then the machine will not pump the wash cycle water out and it will not go into the subsequent cycles. The "grinding" or buzzing sound can be caused by an intermittent signal reaching relay switches or solenoids.

Washing machine makes buzzing noise

Check the water pump for an obstruction in the chamber area, your pump may be sticking and that will cause the buzzing sound. The water pump runs during the fill portion of the cycle on several of the selected wash cycles to recirculate the water.

HOOK UP

Most portable washer come with a adapter for the sink so you can hook the fill and drain to the sink. There are some models that only hook the fill hose to the sink and the drain is a seperet hose you hang into a sink. If the unit is new the adapter should have been included with it. If it was used you can get the part at any hardware store or appliance parts dealer. Good luck

Leaking from the front top of machine immediately when cycle begins...

Not sure if this is the same problem but my old WD800 used to spew water out of the top left corner where the detergent tray is. This occurred at one point in the cycle. It was cured by turning down the incoming water pressure on the external tap under the kitchen sink (in this particular case, the cold water)

My washing machine won't fill with water

I have my washer connected to the kitchen sink. In order for it to fill I have to connect the hose to the faucet and turn it on, it is pain but that is the only way it will work for me. I hope this helps.
