Kenmore 90 series gas dryer, NO HEAT!!!

Hello, i have a kenmore 90 series soft heat system (gas) dryer also has heavy duty / super capacity plus / quiet pak. for some reason it is taking me four 1 hours cycles to get my clothes dry. what could be the problem??? it spins it and it throws out very little heat. i know that the gas hook up from the wall for the gas is 3/8 but the gas line from the dryer is 1/2 could that be the problem??? it gas turnes on and stays on but it is not enough heat to get the clothes dry. im having a hard time with this... did not have this problem before. is there anything i can do to fix this... please let me know what i can do...

thank you for taking the time to help me out... your time is gratefully appericated...

smiles from a desperate woman!!!

    HI,

I got the same with my kenmore kingsize 90 series gas dryer. I had no problem before but recently, it takes a lot of time [2 hours] to dry the clothes as there is no heat as evidenced with no warm air during operation. There is no problem in the exhaust line and lint screen is clean.

Any advise to solve this problem?

    Thanks.

Our dryer stopped drying clothes also. The dryer turns ON and spins the drum at all the different settings (Timed Dry, Automatic Dry, @ various settings of HIgh Heat (Cotton), Medium,...) but we don't feel any heat (so something in the gas heating system must not be working. If you have any ideas let me know. The dryer is 10 years old, so unless I can fix it myself with minimal <$100 of new parts cost, it may not be worth it.

I have a Kenmore 90 Plus Gas Dryer, Model 78932. The dryer has no heat. The ignitor glows off and on in an attempt to ignite, the drum turns but no flame-heat. Last week ther was a flame on occation but it took 3-4 times as long. Now there is no heat at all. Vent is clear, Gas is on.

Same here we got a new dryer and is sucks. Not heat we thought it was a bad dryer so we took it back to the store only to get a second one that dose the same thing. We checked the vent...Clear...we checked the GAS its on and flowing....it puts out almost no heat. and when the gas is cycling it isn't on long enough to do any thing. Huge compliant here

Hi, if you get no glow on the ignitor and you have voltage its the little white two terminal fuse on the exhaust side that has no continuity on the series 80 it has 2 blue wires, these complete the circuit for both gas valves and the ignitor. If you have an ohm meter it you will find it rite away. Hope this helps.

It sounds like your heating element has broken. There are several links provided on this site on how to replace it. You might want to take a look at davesrepair.com to purchase a new one. He has pretty good prices on the element.

My Kenmore Series 90 heavy duty gas dryer does not heat.

Hi,

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

check out this electric no heat tip...

80 Series Gas Dryer - No Heat. All other parts

check outside drye vent where it goes through the wall they clog up with lint sometimes and force the escaping warm air to back up which causes sensor to give wrong reading if this is clogged just clear it till you feel the air coming through also check vent at bottom of dryer disconnect flex pipe and check for clogs there as well ..and always clear lint trap after every load

Heavy duty super capacity plus Kenmore 80 series Electric drier the timer is running, but when I push the start button - nothing

the drum belt may be broken. you will have to check this, it goes around the drum and the pulley on the motor. you could also have a bad motor.

Dryer timer is not working and won't heat but runs fine

check the ignitor. That's a very common cause for no heat in a gas dryer. other possibilities are the coils, or it could be that you have a bad fuse in the dryer.
