Can not connect to tv

Does you notebook shows any connection information after connect to tv. If not you need to install. If this didn't work you have to change VGA cable. If not your notebook doesnot supports the tv

If I'm understand you correctly you said you have the HDMI Cable and the VGA Cable comming from the Computer to the TV. You should only have one cable. Either use the HDMI from the computer to the HDMI to the TV or use the VGA from the Computer to the VGA on the TV. Once you have the cable connect select your input on the TV. If you have the VGA Cable connected your input to select on the tv will probably be PC or Computer. If you use the HDMI Cable your input to select on the TV will be HDMI.

One you connect the cables and select the input try rebooting the computer and the video might show up automatically on the tv. If not you will have to hit the FN (Function key) + the correct (F1 thru F12) key that corresponds to the external display. The correct key will probably have CRT/LCD on it or it might have the icon of a display. Press and Hold the FN key then hit the correct key (F1 thru F12) that toggles the display. The display will toggle on 3 setups (Computer only, TV only, both the TV and Computer).

Now as for not being able to boot up normally that's another issue.

Most TVs will have HDMI and RCA component and composite jacks. Some TVs will also have a VGA port. Your laptop will have a VGA port. (If the laptop is fairly new, it may also have an HDMI port.)

Not all TVs will support an HDMI signal from a computer, so the VGA signal is often better. However, that limits you to SD (anything with HDCP will fail.)

Very few TVs ship with the HDMI or component cables. However, there are some vendors who do package the HDMI cable with their TV. Without knowing which exact model of TV and laptop, I can only make a few suggestions. I know that the TCP42ST30 (Plasma 42") doesn't have a VGA port.

Look at your laptop for any external monitor port. VGA ports are generally blue female ports with 15 holes (D-Sub). If your TV has a matching VGA port, get a standard VGA monitor cable.

If you have the VGA port on the laptop but not on the TV, you can try a converting from VGA to HDMI. (You may need a DVI to VGA adapter and either a DVI to HDMI cable or a DVI to HDMI adapter.) Note: this gives an analog signal (RGB format) to the TV. You'll also need to make sure that your VGA port is active (in the BIOS for some computers) and then set your computer to send the signal to the external monitor. It is best to turn off both the computer and the TV before connecting the two. Then turn on the TV and set it to the correct input before turning on the computer. (In Windows 7, I set the video signal for the external monitor by right clicking on the desktop and selecting Graphics Properties. Set the signal to the external monitor and click Apply. Then click OK (in the external monitor's screen).)

Some laptops come with an HDMI, mini-HDMI or a DisplayPort option. For the latter two, you will need the appropriate cable with that end and the HDMI connector on the other. Then connect the TV and the computer as described above. (Note: my TVs accept a computer signal at the HDMI port labeled HDMI/DVI. However, you need to make sure that your TV understands this signal. It isn't the same format as that from a set-top box. My laptop has VGA and HDMI out; the desktops have VGA, DVI and HDMI (on one).)

No, a DVI to VGA adapter will not work. (The TV is looking for the digital signal from a set top box. This is different from the analog signal on the VGA cable.) You need a converter. Your best bet would be a VGA to component video converter. (I am assuming that the Sharp TV has a component video input.) Note a VGA to component video cable will not work. The VGA to component cables are for projectors that read the RGB signal. The component video signal is YPbPr.

Connect the VGA cable to the converter and the component video cable to the TV and the converter with the computer and TV off. Turn on the TV first and set it to the component video input and then turn on the computer. Then (assuming the VGA port is enabled - adjust in the BIOS if needed) set the computer's video output to the VGA port. (On my Windows 7 laptop, this can be done by right-clicking on the desktop. Choose Graphics Properties and set the display to the external monitor or both. Click Apply and then confirm the change (on the external monitor if using the single monitor). (VGA to Composite video converters also exist if you do not have an available component video input on your TV.)

If your computer is fairly new, you may have an HDMI port. Your TV may be able to read the signal with a DVI to HDMI cable. (It depends on the TV. Not all of them will read the computer's signal on the DVI port. Check the documentation for your model. TVs without a VGA port are less likely to support this feature.)

     Compare internal and external TV tuners that are designed for use with computers. See if the tuner supports HD, DVI, component video, S-video, stereo, surround sound or other features you might like to use. Ensure that any internal devices will work with the expansion slots in your computer.

     Purchase a regular TV tuner if your monitor has S-video, coaxial or RCA inputs. These can be seen at the back of the monitor. S-video should be clearly marked; coaxial is a large round port, and RCA inputs are typically smaller and brightly colored. If your monitor does not have these inputs, purchase a special TV tuner designed just for computer monitors. If you would like to use the tuner with your computer and monitor, choose an internal TV tuner. If you're using your computer monitor as a television on its own, select a stand-alone external tuner. Install the internal TV in your computer, if applicable.

     Connect the TV tuner to the monitor with the proper cable. Select S-video as the connection option if both your tuner and monitor support it. Choose RCA component video as your next option. If you will be using satellite or cable TV with your monitor, simply plug the satellite or cable set top box into the tuner using RCA or coaxial cables.      Set your tuner to the channel you use to pick up television stations. If you receive free over-the-air television, this channel will be 3 or 4. If you have satellite or cable TV, this station is determined by your television service provider. Check the documentation that came with your system to determine which channel to set the tuner on. You will probably need to change channels using the satellite or cable box rather than the TV tuner.
     

The 1525has a a hdmi port which you can plug a hdmi cord into. This may not support the audio. the tv and pc should detect the new monitor automatically or you may have to toggle it by hitting F4 key.

Check the connection options on your TV. If your TV has a VGA connection slot, plug the TV into the computer with a VGA cordlike a computer monitor. Connect one end of the VGA cable to the back of the computer and the other end to the TV. Switch between normal TV viewing to displaying your computer on your TV by selecting the proper mode from the remote control, some remotes will mark the proper mode as "VGA" while others will label it "Computer" or "PC."
Check the back of your computer to see if you have an S cable slot. Connect S cable portion of the S-Video Audio to 3 RCA Type Adapter Cable to the computer and plug in the green audio plug to the audio port of the PC. Plug the red white and yellow RCA cables into the matching colors of the RCA slots on the TV. With this method you will need to switch modes from TV to video.
Check the back of the computer and TV for either DVI or HDMI slots. The slots on your computer must match, you cannot connect a DVI to a HDMI. Plug one end of the corresponding cable into the the back of the TV and the other end into the computer. Choose the correct program mode, HDMI or DVI, from the remote to view the computer from the TV.

Step 2Determine the types of video inputs that are available on your plasma TV. There should be a standard RCA composite input, a three-jack RCA component input and an S-video input. HDMI and DVI represent the highest-quality connections, followed by VGA, Component, S-video, and composite. Depending on the card, the TV output may be DVI, HDMI, component, S-video or composite. Step 4Purchase a video cable long enough to reach from your PC’s video output to your plasma TV. If the distance is over ten feet, you may want to invest in high-quality cables to ensure that the plasma TV receives a clean signal for the best possible picture. Cables over thirty feet in length, depending on the connection type, may result in poor video performance. Step 5Set your computer’s screen resolution to something that your plasma TV can accept, using the “Display” settings in the “Control Panel” in Windows. Refer to the owner’s manual of your plasma TV for the supported resolution and refresh rate. If you are using the S-video, composite or component outputs on your computer, this step may not be necessary. Step 6Connect your PC to your plasma TV using the appropriate cable. Start the computer up and it should recognize the attached display. In the “Display” settings, you will need to configure how the plasma TV is used if it is attached a second display. Most video cards support “Clone” or “Mirror” mode, which displays the same content on both displays. In addition, there is the “Extended” mode, where the second display will operate independently, and windows can be dragged from one screen to the other.
