Why did this NOT come with a converter????

I got my daughter a dsm951-1g mp3 player. I need to convert our dvds to amv format........and this thing DID not come with that.....for, XP. So......what do we do now???? PAY on the internet .........for one.
Yes, we have had it a while now.......but i never did this.....cuz i did...HAVE a converter.
Get this .....the manual says pg 43 for technical support.......there is NO...page 43 in this manual. Outstanding!!!!!!!!!

Also......the manual shows one......we got a disk as big as a game cube disk.....how is that gonna help. Though the manual shows one........its NOT.......for XP i can tell ya that. Swell!
