I bought a new control board thinking that the problem would be fixed, as it a had a different revision number.
Well, sort of. If I plug my range into a non-perfectly grounded electric outlet, it shuts off every time.
If you continue to have this problem call an electrician to check to see if the outlet is properly grounded.
I also noticed on the original board most of the solder joints looked questionable and two of the four capacitors appeared to be "stressed".
I should have replaced all four capacitors, but I got nervous and bought a replacement "control center" as it is called.
I can almost guarantee you if your oven gives the "lost connection" often, you have a grounding issue at your house.
Why am I so adamant? Because I bought my range used after it was diagnosed by the factory technician the house it was in wasn't properly grounded and was causing the problem.
Of course, they didn't that out right away...
Also, the control board is sensitive to old exhaust fan motors like I have in my 50 year old house. Even in a properly grounded outlet, if I turn on the exhaust fan above the stove it shuts down.

I hope this helps somebody else with the same problem.
Granted, I figured there might be more to learn about my stove paying $200.00 to buy it used from the dealer after testing the self-clean sensor and replacing it.
So I'm into an $1800.00 range for $300.00 and I'm okay if it's finicky because I know how to fix it and i'm still $1500.00 ahead.

I replaced the control board in my oven, with a different revision board and guess what? It did the same thing. Same error, same difficulty. The timing circuit on these ovens is still poorly designed. But, here's a BIG help: if your range has been plugged in for any length of time (like normal) before turning the oven on "bake" unplug the oven for 5 minutes, then plug it back in and it doesn't throw any more error codes. Of course every time you want to use the oven you need to unplug, wait, then plug it back in. At least there is a way to fool the oven into working. My range is plugged in in a wall outlet above it, so it's easy for me to do this. I might suggest for other people with this same issue get a properly sized extension cord, a short one of course, and try my "fix" it's not perfect, but at least now I can use the oven again without having to watch it every minute...

I had the same problem. If I reset the circuit breaker the error message/problem disappers and the oven will work.

Are more users of this oven seeing this problem?

No grounding issues since I have checked electrical and confirmed that plug is indeed grounded. This communication error occurs infrequently but when it does it's annoying.

I have a kitchenaid gas stove 30"wide model# KGRA806PSS01 and the problem its having is that the bake and broil igniters will not spark to light the gas the top burners are working just fine and I...

Unfortunitly i myself a tech of 30 years has no idea what the code 0164 means and have only ever see error codes with E/F so on that sorry no help. HOWEVER having replaced the spark module and EOC i would suspect the only thing else that could be causing the oven/broiler to not ignite is the electrodes(igniters) and would go ahead and replace those as well.

Code F6 Oven will not work with any button, I get

Hi janishanson,

The F6 fault code description is an EEPROM checksum error. The EEPROM checksum error occurs when the values differ. In this case, you need to replace the mainboard or control board, also called as ERC.

Hope it helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Beeping noise every few seconds

Happy, since it's new, you should call them back. Lost communications has to do with the main board and power board. Try pressing cancel to clear the board. Then press cancel, cancel again then start. See if an error of F6-E4 shows on the display. If so, have them check the P-2 connector on the power board. Make sure it is seated properly. It's possible that a harness is just loose or it could be the main board is faulty. It's under warranty and you wouldn't want to void it by going in there yourself. You can also try killing the powe to it for 1 minute to try to reset it. Catriver.
