Question about Fuji FinePix A345 Digital Camera

2 Answers

Blue Hue I have 2 A345 cameras. One is continually taking pictures with a very blue hue to them, useless as a photo, whilst the other camera with same settings takes great pictures. This happens whether indoors or outdoors in a good light. The camera has been back under warranty with no fault found. If I have pictures like this, how can it be no fault found. To demonstrate exactly the blue hue go to web page http://1sourpuss.blogspot.com/2007/05/hoses-trucks-muscles-oh-my.html It is exactly like that. In despair, John

On a digicam, autofocus works by looking for areas of contrast in the image you are framing. So if you are taking a picture of people (who usually have little contrast) and there is something in the frame (such as a building in the background) with more contrast or sharper definition, the autofocus may focus on that item and not your subject. Knowing this, your job is to work with your camera's modus operandi to get the shot you want. One way is to zoom in, lock the focus on your subject (by pressing the shutter button halfway down) and, while still half-pressing (or switching to manual focus if you have that option), zoom out to recompose. Sometimes you can change perspective or backgrounds to give your subject better contrast. Also, aim for areas of high contrast, such as edges.

Color off seems amber

Double check the wb settings in camera, (and be sure to check WB Shift) I'd suggest adding a Blue shift to your images to compensate for the Amber until you find something thats a decent trade off, if you can't eliminate the amber shift.

Red verticle lines

the redish hue usually mean that the camera doesn't have enough light to take a good quality pic. If daytime pictures taken outside still look the same take it back or get a new camera.
