Zune will not turn on

My zune will not turn on when I push the play button. When I press the play button the zune logo flashes and then the zune turns off.

It is fully charged and comes on when connected to the computer. Sometimes when it is connected to the computer it continously resets.

Disconnect from PC.
Make sure the Lock Tab is not engaged.
Press and hold the (BACK) button while pressing up on the control pad. This will allow a system reset. If the firmware is not corrupt then the system should operate normally.

You may have to attach the zune to your pc after downloading the software from this link. Zune supports auto-update features.

1. If the Zune device is not connected to a power source, set the Hold switch to unlocked. Then, press and hold the Play/Pause button to turn off the device. • If this does not work, restart the device. To restart the device, set the Hold switch to the unlocked position, and then press and hold the Back button Zune will not turn on - zune_button_back.gif as you press the top of the Zune Pad. When the device begins to reset, you can release the buttons. 2. If the Zune device is connected to a power source, it is operating correctly. You cannot manually turn off the Zune device. Note Depending on how you configured your backlight setting, the backlight for the Zune device may automatically turn off in this situation. To access the backlight options, select display on the settings menu, and then press the center of the Zune pad. To adjust the setting, select backlight, and then press the center of the Zune pad.

Hi! DId you try a complete reset.. just take the battery out and leave it like that for about 1 min. Then put the battery back and see if it works. If it doesn't then try connecting it to an outlet and then try to switch it on. IF it works then its a battery problem.. If it still doesn't work then you can try updating the firmware to a later version and see if it works.. report your findings so that we can proceed further

hold the back button and the up button until you see the Zune logo then release. if this doesnt work then you are going to have to reset your Zune....however this will loose all the data on the zune so your music/movies will be completely gone. you are going to need to press and hold the back and up button until the zune logo appears then hold the back,play/pause, and the center button until you see "please wait"
if this doesnt work you have some serious issue.Source(s):

My zune just stopped working

run the battery completey dead or you could possibly reset the device to factory default...

Try this....
Reset Zune: Press and hold the back button while pressing up on the control pad.
Connect Zune to a power source: If the Zune device is in sleep mode, this action will wake the Zune device and turn it on. If the battery does not have a charge, you may have to wait several minutes for the Zune device to turn on.

Also, make sure that the hold button on top of your zune is turned to the off position.

Hope this helps!
