An SD card isn't usually used as Hard Drives as they don't contain enough space. Although they are getting bigger and bigger capacities all the time!

I think what your after is booting your computer off the SD card which will have Windows on it? Some computers can boot straight from the SD card, my old laptop used too!

What needs to happen is that you need to go into your BIOS settings (which are your motherboard settings) and in ther you can set boot sequence, so by default most are set to Hard Drive first. The computer looks there first for the operating System. So you need to tell your Motherboard to boot from your SD card 1st. Now your motherboard needs to be able to support this feature, my guess is that it probably wont.

Go into the BIOS and find the boot sequence and scroll through the available options, if SD is in there, set it. If not your motherboard wont support booting from SD.

Is there any PNY micro sd drivers for windows xp?

Windows doesn't require "drivers" downloaded to access SD cards and should have all you need already in the OS. If it doesn't see it when you plug it in make sure the USB port is active and has its driver installed. If you're still unable to see it the card may be damaged or need to be formatted in some other device.

You will need special formatting software from the disk maker. Windows XP will not normally format a sd memory card.

Write protected

1.Look for a switch or button on the side of the micro SD card or adapter. It might have a lock/unlock symbol on it. 2.Move the switch to the "Unlocked" position to remove write protection. This position may also be labeled "R/W" for read/write. If you have no switch, continue to Step 3. 3.Download and install Sony EzRecover (see Resources for link) and attempt to use it to format the card (this will erase all content). If this doesn't work, try Step 4. 4.Delete and repartition the micro SD card using Windows XP. Select "Control Panel" > "Administrative Tools" > "Disk Management." Select the micro SD drive and click "Delete." Right-click on empty drive and select "New Partition."
