Inside the drum one of the tumblers is loose how do you tighten it up?

Hello,
You can tighten those baffles by getting to outside of drum to thighten the screws that hold them to drum. to get access to outside of drum;
Remove screws from door hinge

remove screws from other side of inside door as they are exaclty opposite the ones for hinges

pull off from panel by putting putty knife/screwdriver in seam between front panel/cabinet just below the sloped part of the top and pop off front panel

in the upper corners of the top/front panel is a clip that looks likea inverted "7" or if ya will a up side down "L" remove screws from the clips and remove the clip

now ya can raise top to get to outside of drum

rotate drum by hand in CLOCKWISE direction to turn drum so ya can get to each baffle

The tumbler makes a terrible noise - I'm sure it's just a coin or a screw rattling around in there. I can't figure out how to get inside to look around the tumbler to see what it may be. And once...

Open the door and look inside - yes, you can see everything inside the drum. Sometimes buttons, especially the metal ones on denim pants, can make a pretty good racket.

If you don't find any foreign objects inside the drum, and the dryer makes noise even when it's empty, it may be time to change the drum rollers or the belt tensioner pulley. It's also remotely possible that there's something batting about in the blower housing, but if that is the case, it would probably be a screw or something broken off of the ductwork, or the blower itself is loose on the shaft. Post back if you need instructions for checking the mechanism underneath the drum.

Inside tumbler is loose - how do you tighten

If the tumbler is loose and you can move it from side to side the bearings in the rear of the drum may be going bad. The bearings aren't an expensive part, the job is just time consuming because you need to remove the outer casing of the dryer and take the drum out. The sides of the dryer stay together the front should come straight off and if the top doesn't come straight off it will tip back on hinges so the wires stay intact. You may need two people to replace the bearings once you get the drum off because they are generally screwed in from inside the drum.

Repair loose tumbler fin

Pop the top, remove the front, the drum will come free. Take pictures of how the belt goes around the motor. Fix your "fin" and reverse.

The top is held down by spring clips.

Makes a horible noise like spinning out of balance

All dryers have to have a way of allowing the tumbler (that's the thing you put the clothes in) to turn freely, not all of them are the same tho, some use bearings, some use slides, others use rollers. Over time these rollers will need to be oiled, the slides will get thin and start metal to metal contact causing a noise, The rear bearings will then start to make their way to china and cause the tumbler to rub into the heating element and OUCH! These things will cause the motor to prematurely DIE! Its best to examine the dryers, rollers, and slides when you first hear the noise.

I have a Kenmore 70 Series gas dryer, model 76712691. The dryer has 3 plastic ''tumblers'' inside the dryer, to help the clothes tumble. Two of the tumblers have fallen off inside, leaving big holes inside...

Pull the dryer away from the wall, there is no bottom on the dryer, so the screws should be on the floor.
You can then pop the lid up from the front and fold it back. When you do, you will see the drum. Roll the drum around until you see the holes and reattach the tumblers.
You can also access the drum from below. Tip the dryer on its back and you can see the drum from the bottom.
Good luck.

Loose Tumbler Fin In dryer

most maytag dryers have push type clips that hold the top to the front. look between the top and front with a light and find them about 3-4 inches from the outer edges. once you get the top up then there will be screws that hold the drum baffles to the drum. just put a new screw in them and all will be ok. no need to replace them, just use new screws.

Dryer Paddle Loose

Take the four screws, out of the door and remove it. The front of the dryer will fold down and lift off, you will be able to see in side the dryer. If you want to lift the top remove the screws that are now exposed. Along with the brackets the top will now lift up.

This should allow you to access the tumbler.
