Question about Lexmark X6170 All-In-One InkJet Printer
My Lexmark X6170 all-in-one suddenly died for no apparent reason! I didn't change any settings on it or replace any cartridges. My Sony VAIO computer says that it cannot communicate with it, and offered several possible solutions, none of which worked (unplug and plug in power, disconnect and then reconnect USB cable, restart computer). All the printer has been doing for several days is blinking on and off (the power button, copy button, scan button, and the fax button). The scan and fax buttons are much brighter for some reason. Please help! Thanks!
It sounds very much like the power supply has failed.
I doubt there are any fuses, but it would be extremenly likely one of the low voltages generated in the power supply have been flakey and finally failed.
I can give more details as to why, But that would more so be what happend on the board, and it would still require replacement of that power supply.
