Try to re-install your audio drivers. if even re-installing the audio drivers wont work, try using a seperate audio card try diagnose the problem.

No audio

Hi, There:

Yoo! there is no audio if you dont have speakers. Try to connect a speaker to your computer and install the kind of software you choose for your audio driver. Follow the instructions from your software and you can hear the sounds.

It would be nice if you inform me that you have done it successfully.

Angel

My computer stand alone speakers just stopping giving sound and nothing has changed. I operate windows xp and have a dell computer. i reinstall the sound from cd. i think it may be a driver problem

Hi, click on the "Start Button," in the (right pane) Control Panel, next in the category listings, select Hardware and Sound, open, and click on the "Manage Sound Devices." The Sound window will open; click on the "Playback" button, there should be a Speakers Icon, click on it, look below to find the "Properties button, click to open the next window. In the next window there will be (4) four buttons "General, Level... First click on the "General" button, in the top of the window there will be a "Driver" button, click on that button to open. Select to "Update Driver," just click on it, the Drivers will be updated for you. Next you can go back and press the other areas, Speaker Level etc... Next if you have a "MIC" do the same for the Microphone as you done for (Speakers) in the [Recording] category. Note: "Remember to click on the "Apply and OK buttons afterward to make sure the changes take effect. "Restart the computer to finalize the changes." "Rate the solution on it helpfulness, its away of letting me know if you resolved the the problem or you need further assistance, thank you."

Can only get sound through 1 channel how do i fix this problem

Open the "mixer" control on your computer.
Make sure that you have not "panned-100%-left"
or "panned-100%-right", i.e., your computer should be doing a '50/50' split of the sound into the two speakers.

Deliberately "pan" it away from 50/50, to see if putting "maximum" volume into one speaker,
and "minimum" volume into the other speaker, makes an audible difference.

Try the speakers in some other computer.
If it's still 100/zero, then the speakers are the problem.

I tried recording, but it didn't work. No sound at all, and the light in the channel selected didn flash at all neither. Like there is no connection.

Do you have any sound from any device on the computer ??
IF NOT then try to look on the "icon" " speaker" next to the clock on the bottom and see if the volume is up and not checked as disabled. :O)

Hope that helps
Have a nice day

No sound when I play BBC i Player/Radio etc.what to do?

We cannot yet tell if the issue is software or hardware related.
Do you get sound from any apps? If not, verify that the device and drivers are working properly.
Are your speakers built in or external?
If built-in, and no sound comes from any apps, your sound card may be bad, or drivers need reinstalling. Check the driver status using Device Manager.
If the speakers were/are external, be sure that they are securely pluged into the correct port - speaker and not microphone jack, for example - common mistake.
Be sure that the power supply for the external speakers is working. Do you have a status light on them to verify if they have power?
My suggestion would be to try another pair of speaker if you have them. Even if you used internal speakers in the past, external may work fine as a work-around.
Hope this helps.

No audio when i try to play tunes in itunes

FIRST try the simple solutions. Check if your speaker wires are plugged into the proper ports.
If you are unsure, it won't hurt to try different configurations.
(If you hear sound from other devises such as plating a CD of the "Microsoft Sound" when starting up or shutting down, then the speakers are wired correctly.)
If this is OK then try...
Go to your "Device Manager" (Right click on  'My Computer', select 'Properties', click the 'Hardware' tab, click the 'Device Manager' button. Click the "Sound video and game controllers"). If there is some kind of a "Warning" icon superimposed on the 'speaker' icon there is your problem!
If no "Warning" icons then try...

One at a time...
Double click on each of the devises that have 'Audio' in the listings.
Click the "Properties" tab, look for any "Warning" icons
Uninstall the DRIVERS for THAT DEVICE only. See instructions below.
Click on the faulty devise and hit the remove button, follow the instructions given by the program.
Shutdown, restart, the device will automatically reinstall by the "Found New Hardware" program.
