Question about HP DeskJet 3550 InkJet Printer
I've had this printer for a while, I don't print too often and I have been looking after it very well since I've bought it.
Few weeks ago while I was printing a 2 page-document only the paper feeder got kind of jammed, I then pressed the start-hold button (this is the only button on the printer), then the printer went off -as per normal-, but when I re-pressed the button to switch it back on it just wouldn't go on any longer.
I have of course tested all the wires and connections (disconnected/unplugged and reconnected/plugged back in). It just doesn't switch on, it stays totally off, not even a sign of going back on, as if there was no electricity connected at all.
The printer is connected via a AC power adapter (which looks like a black box). Basically, the printer is connected to my powermac computer via usb1 and on the back of the printer there's also the cable that connects to the power adapter which connects to the main plug point.
I was wondering whether maybe it is the power adapter that doesn't work anymore instead of the problem being with the printer?
In any case, what could I try? Any suggestions? If you reckon it is the power adapter, do you know if I could get one of them at a cheap price somewhere here in UK?
Thank you in advance for your time
Kind regards Antonella
It isn't a normal power cord (I would have tried if I had another one), I've never seen such a plug (the part that goes inside the printer, it is green and it s unique)

The power cord is not a common one (I would have tried that if I had another one), the 'plug' that goes inside the back of the printer is light green and is specific for this printer.
It would cost me more to buy a new printer than get a new cable :/
