Have you tried the broil setting yet?
This will tell you if the upper element comes on.
If so, you may have a burned bottom element.

hi thanks for the question yes this problem is very popular in gas ovens even though theigniter lights up its not hot enough to ignite the gas and also with this problem it wont reach the set tempeture thanks the appliance doc

Sounds like a yes from where I'm sitting, your right on target, buying a new spark module will fix it.

SOURCE: I have a series 30 Tappan Gas Range with a broiler
Either a weak ignitor or stuck valve. I tap on the valve with the plastic end of a screwdriver while it is glowing and if it lights the ignitor is weak. If not the valve is stuck and both should be replaced.
