Listen for the dics to spin up. If it is doing that, then the drive is recognizing that a disc is there, it just can't read it. Try opening up the unit and cleaning the lens using a cotton swab and alcohol. If that doesn't resolve the problem, the optics are bad and the drive will need to be replaced.
