No Picture on TV

I have been given this super nintendo console and games. It came with No instructions and I was told it was working. It powers up O.K. but how do I get a picture on the TV, I have tried fine tuning the TV to find a signal but have had no sucess. It came with a MULTIOUT cable which connects to the SCART socket of my TV.??

    Hi..!
My newly aqq. SuperNintendo behaves similar.. It seems to power up, with the red LED glowing on the deck. When connected via the correct AV-socket, theres no sound or picture.. The screen stays black but flickers slightly when powering on or off.
Ive also tried the RF-connection, with no findings, tested on several TVs...!

I had the same problem,
take a q-tip, and some rubbing alcohol (or something of thatnature) and clean the game pak and then the inside of the consol where the game goes. that should work

Hello zed1
Have you tried the multiout-cable (to scart-socket on your TV?)
If you have, and the (black) screen-image on the TV flickers when turning the console either on or off, it might be a faulty connection of the cartridge you've got inserted..
About eight of my Snes-cartidges have had their printed circuit boards come slightly "loose" inside the actual plastic casing (produced a rattle when shaken!)
And by re-fixating the PCB in the plastic case to its original position, the game(s) will be functional again...

Have you tried using a composite connection? Do you know how to access the SCART input on your set? Sometimes the channel up/down buttons don't get you to the A/V inputs.

Super NES Console: My super Nintendo gets power (red light turns on) ...

Maybe the one that is not turning on to play game is broken then. Ensure that you have a known-good game cartridge inserted before powering on the SNES console. Most older, cartridge-based game consoles don't boot without a game installed.
Does the power light to the left of the controller ports turn on when you turn on the power switch?
If not, check your power adapter and outlet for functionality and good connection.
Check that the reset switch is not stuck. Wiggle it back and forth through its range of motion a few times. If something sticky gets in there it can get jammed in the reset position, which will prevent any game from booting.
You mentioned that there is no image. Are you getting any sound from your games after waiting a few minutes with everything connected and turned on?
If you hear game sounds or music from the SNES, but see no picture and you've already (really and truly) ruled out the cabling and TV, then you might have a bad main board in the console.
If you don't get any video or sound, then it's not booting your game. You can find other recommendations about how to clean game and console connections, but usually inserting and ejecting a game 10-20 times will knock loose or grind off enough gunk to get a game to boot. Try this, and be sure to use the eject lever instead of ripping the game out to avoid console connector damage. If it's still not working, repeat with another game.

I have power to my super nintendo but no picture

One of my favorite systems!!! Super Metroid!!! 100%!!!! Wicked awesome!!!

If you have it connected throught the Coax (round screw on cable with a wire in the middle) make sure your connections are tight and your TV input is on the correct one.

If it's through RCA ensure your tv is on the right input.

If you have a coax and no rca, RadioShack sells universal cables for SNES, N64 and Wii all in one. Try purchasing one.

Good luck and please rate my solution accordingly.

Sound but, no picture on my super nintendo

I fixed the problem. It was only some dust in the connector, but I can't still understand why the RF out is broken.

Super Nintendo won't show any picture or sound even though it reads a signal.

Try pushing down and back lightly on the cartridge while turning it on.Used to work for me.You can also clean the game contacts with rubbing alcohol.Hope this helps...
