Does it also jam when you're just copying or scanning? Try to check if the scanner is closed all the way down. The cover needs to be closed all the way down for the paper to flow properly from the ADF to the exit tray.

You need to bend the paper feeder of an angle of roughly 30 degrees to insert it back inside the printer.

My printer keeps showing the message "Clear paper jam, then press (check mark), there is no jammed paper in the printer.

If I load my paper at the 'proper' height, it will not feed. If I push the paper down too far, I get a 'paper jam' message. What works for me (even though it's a royal pain) is to feed 1 sheet of paper at a time. Put 1 sheet in so it's level with the top of the feed tray, then gently push it down 3/4 of an inch. That works for me. Good luck.

Lexmark X5400 Series AIO Feed Problems

Hi,
Remove the jammed paper. Unplug the printer from the mains and PC. Inspect the rollers, etc for tiny paper piece(s) that may be stuck, or other debris. Try to clean rollers and make sure they are dry.
Keep printer unplugged for about 2 minutes and replug and try a test print.
Also make sure that you have waited long enough for the printer to heat up before giving a print job.
Finally, it could be an issue with the paper sensor. If this is the case, you will probably have to take the printer in for servicing..

Thanks, Anu

Paper does not feed into lexmark X5470 all in one printer

feeding problems
not take apaper
not feed a paper

hey im tuval from israel,
first of all im sorry about my english :)
and now to the point.......
look, if you know where the feeding wheel its good (like elastic material over this wheel) , now take a"nail cleaner" (aceton)
and clean this wheel (the elastic thing), i did thet and the problem is gone!!!
after the cleanning send 15-20 empty doc to print (remember - empty, dont use you ink - you dont have to - save money), if all the paper is out from the printer,
you fix that.

i hope i help you.

My lexmark t520 wont print it says paper jam but there isn't one?

Hi Melissa:
I think that you problem is feed rollers. If you take the paper tray out and look inside you will see two white rubber paper feed rollers. If you feel them and they are smooth, then they need to be replaced. They should feel ruff.

Paper Jam

The problem is that after the cover sensor clip is replaced, the logic that tells the printer to feed the paper just to the beginning of the input roller is corrupted. The feeder roller (grey one at the paper feed) rolls to feed the paper and once the paper get to the input roller, another switch detect the paper, that tells the logic to change the direction of the input roller to feed the paper to the cartrige.

There's should be a way to reset the logic part of the printer to get it working right. Maybe pushing a combination of the front panel buttons.

Try playing with the power/green or power/"X" while unplug and plug the power cord.

Good Luck!!! email me with more sugestions/ideas... jmjc_65 at hotmail...

Lexmark 1185 - paper feed problem

You may be missing a very small jam. Use a torch and tweezers, check down the back, also open cover, check even where you think paper wouldn't jam. Especially in teeth, rollers. Look for foreign debris as well as paper. Also, turn off, unlplug all cables/usb etc and replug, turn on. Finally, never load more than about 20 fine sheets at a time, reset printer settings to default. As a last resort, try uninstalling and reinstalling the printer.
