Hi, can you tell me why my hard drive recorder is coming up with the "unknown disc error" everytime i load a dvd movie into it to watch. I have tried numerous movies and none of them work at all. I have checked the region code but still no help. My HD recorder is an LG model RH2T80. This would be greatly appreciated if you can help me with this. thanks.

- I have the same model and the same problem. It won't play any bought or hired disc (although it used to), it will only play discs/dvds I've recorded myself (from the HDD).
This shows that it's not the lens!

Either the lens of the DVD drive has got dirty, or the drive itself is faulty. Try cleaning the lens with a lens cleaning disk, if this does not work, return it for replacement (If it is still under warranty), or take it to a repair shop to have the DVD drive replaced.
