Question about ASUS A7N8X Motherboard

1 Answer

INTERNET CONNECTIVITY I recently opened my computer and blew it out with canned air. Ever since then, I have not been able to connect to the internet. My computer is picking up my wireless network and connecting to it. I just won't connect. I think I may have accidentally pulled a connection from my motherboard. Does this sound right? or am I searching in the wrong area?

That could be right but thats something hard to guess... in this cases better to disconnect and check every part separately and find if any part smells like burned... if all is ok just connect it back and try... if you feel strange smells better go to a tech or report here but with specific info...

Computer will not connect to net

I am very skilled in wireless connectivity and networking. Chances are you have a driver issue. I am assuming you are trying to connect wirelessly. You need to right click your networking iconin the bottom right hand corner of the screen... Normally looks like a cell phone signal indicator.. See if you see your network in the list. From here what shows up will determine the next step ..

How to know if my computer has internet access?

heres what to do... go to your CONTROL PANEL then
NETWORK AND INTERNET CONNECTIONS then NETWORK CONNECTIONS . (If your in classic view, click on NETWORK CONNECTIONS.)
on your NETWORK CONNECTION you will see there if your LAN/WLAN is connected.
if you want to know if you are connected even without looking in your NETWORK CONNECTION do this steps.
  1. in your NETWORK CONNECTIONS, right click your LAN/WLAN.
  2. in the menu that will appear, choose PROPERTIES.
  3. a windows will popup, below the window you will see two sentences with a blank checkbox in the side that say.
- Show icon in notification are when connected - Notify me when this connection is limited or no connectivity 4. Check the 2 boxes beside it, just like the photo below. heifentrixx_2.jpg 5. CLick OK. and thats it.
Goodluck. Hope it helps.

Try power cycling the router.
Disconnect the router from all computers. Power off the router. Power on the router. Reconnect the router to all computers. Check the Internet connectivity.

Internet connection shows its connected but cant get on the internet

try using a DOS window and type the command ping www.google.com to see if you get a response, this ping command allows you to see the connectivity , if you get a successful pinging then the next step would be to find out if you have a norton internet suite or some other firewall or protection measure between your computer and the internet. also whether you have a cable modem or FIOS router it would be savy to connect the pc directly to the router and unplug any other computer you may have connected. some worms or viruses can prevent your computer from getting to the internet so you cant fix the problem, although everyone discards a physical problem in this case I always bring my own working ethernet cable just in case. actually I always carry two or three patch cords to make sure the problem is really software related and not media related. try posting the output of the command ipconfig/all in some site like pastebin or similar. thank you .

No network connection for windows xp

Hello kenji, hi, it would really help if you could add more information about the no connection problem, anyway there are several reason why you have no connection;
  1. Bad Lan card, or built in lan port,
  2. Lan card device driver not properly installed, check your driver CD.
  3. loose lan cable. check using a lan cable tester device.
  4. bad router or router setup.
  5. bad dsl or modem setup.
  6. bad telephone connection. check also telephone cable.
  7. no internet service, call your ISP.
  8. if you are using a wireless lan card, check the device.
  9. bad Operating system installation.
  10. check your connectivity setup, is it enabled?
Go through each from one to ten, see which one is the fault.
