The exact same thing just happened to me and I didn't move my computer at all. I had a pop-up saying that I had an audio problem, I searched for a fix, and then it told me to restart. When I restarted nothing had been fixed

Just installed 3 days and they stopped working, no easily apparent reason, I did download a large windows media player update, that may have coincided and cause a driver issue. I am running 2007 windows XP on a practically brand new Dell 530s? any suggestions?
I have checked the hardware, trouble shooter etc and speakers have power and cables OK.

Try Downloading your audio drivers. That can be an issue because windows detected an error with your speakers.

Sounds like you have missed the wire which connects them to your pc (or to each other)

Hello, My logitech x-230 2.1 speaker system is not producing any sound. The power light comes on but no sound at all comes from any speaker. Also, it is not the computers fault because I have used it with...

If there is an ON/OFF switch at the back of your 2.1 speakers, then switch it on. Or is the VOLUME control set at 0? Turn it up a bit.

Or, are the left & right speakers properly hooked to the subwoofer unit?
Please check.

How can I connect my logitech x-230 speakers to my new laptop with windows 7? Never had probs before

Windows 7 adds High Definition and other sound features. Sound can be selecting in many more ways and it gets even tricker with microphones.

But this should do it:
Left Click "Start"
type "control panel" enter or click on menu selection
Left click "Sounds"
Enable your speakers from the default settings

For these speakers, the headphone jack is controlled by your sound card. The volume can be adjusted by using the Mixer application in your operating system.
