In a Acer aspire M5640 has an on board video /intergrated in to the motherboard. When I boot up the computer, the montor is blank, I have tried the montor on a different computer, and it works on the other computer. I have tried to install a new viedo card, I am not able to switch from the intergrated viedo, to the new viedo card, without going to windows Vista home Premium. What can I do? Big mo63

Make sure you have securely connected both the four pin and 24 pin motherboard power connectors into the motherboard. If either one of these are even partially unplugged it can cause your system to freeze. Also, since you have been working inside the computer, try pushing the RAM in, just in case it came loose. If you are still encountering problems check all the rest of the power and data connections inside your computer including hard drives and the new video card.
I assume you are using the integrated video, (on board). With a new power supply and motherboard you have eliminated all but the monitor. Try a different monitor. I have also seen a case where a computer tower worked fine in one setup with a flat screen, but when hooked up to an older CRT monitor it would not display because of the resolution settings.
Remove the CMOS battery and remove hard disk connection from the motherboard. Then restart ur system. It will give u the msg no boot device found. Now reinsert the CMOS and hard disk connection.
