The blink red triangle means that the toner is completely over and can't be refilled. The toner cartridge comes with on-chip sensor that counts the toner life. To resolve this issue, you need to replace a new toner cartridge.
This triangle means that the toner supply is needed. It comes first as a steady triangle meaning toner is running low and eventually flashing triangle which means toner is completely empty and copy cannot run. There are two methods of replacing toner ; Refilling and cartridge replacing.
You can refill by opening the waste container and then removing the lid on the unit. Use a sprout provided in Sharp Al1000 toner bottle or improvise by folding a paper into a funnel shape.
For cartridge , pullout the old cartridge and replace with a Sharp Al100td cartridge.
Try this... it reads the level of the toner and can become faulty. This clears it.
1: Turn off power and remove toner/drum 2: Tape the little spring loaded lever just inside the printer on the upper left hand side in the *DOWN* position! Do not replace drum yet and... 3: Turn power on to printer and let it cycle. Status/Toner lights will come on as usual. 4: Turn off printer, remove tape from lever, replace drum and turn back on.
The toner cartridge comes with on-chip sensor that counts the toner life. If you allow it to go empty completely that is it gives red triangle which is steady to warn that toner is near empty. You should replenish toner at this time but if you allow it to blink red triangle, that means its completely over and can't be refilled. REPLACE A NEW TONER CARTRIDGE.
This light is indeed designed to indicate a low toner condition. Its coming on is triggered not by the actual level of toner in the cartridge, but by a software process that estimates toner use. If you are inclined to refill your own cartridges, you can use install a glass fuse in the little clip on the back of the toner cartridge that will reset the counter, and turn out the light, otherwise the light will stay on. The reset process will blow the fuse, so a new fuse is needed each time a cartridge is refilled. Leaving the light lit does not hinder the operation of the printer, so as long as there is still sufficient toner to print, the printer will operate normally.
Likely thing is that you have a faulty toner cartridge return it to the store and ask for a replacement in exchange as yours is faulty. IF this does not cure the fault then maybe the drum unit causing the fault and this may need replacing.
The front panel tells you witch toner cartridge should you replace. If a supply memory error ocures then the cartridge should be replaced or exchanged with a new one. The imaging drum unit is also consumable. for "Joe 50" - there are 4 toner cartridges in the printer.
