Question about Audio Players & Recorders

1 Answer

Blew the fuse on my kenwood amplifier and i replaced it today with same exact fuse. still the amplifier won't work. it turns on and gives minimal power to the subwoofer but it cuts out whenever it tries to give a larger current to the sub. i was told that maybe it's in some kind of protection mode? i'm not too sure i disconnected all wires and let it sit for a few hours and still nothing. please.help.i love my subwoofer.

hey lifedeath, is it a power amp driving the sub from the amps speaker outputs? I you have a multi meter, what does the sub impedance measure?

My kenwood KAC-7204--- the wiring is hooked up right, I just got a 2000 watt max sub 1000 watt rms, i was running the amp in bridge mode and it ran for 1 day than it turned off. I checked it and the fuse...

when i was running my sub off bridge mode this kept happening to me. I ended up just running two subs and for some reason the fuse stopped blowing. i think there is something wrong with these amps.

Fuse blew on on cable coming from batter, replaced fuse now my kenwood excelon ddx7015 and amp xxv-02a wont power up , but when i test the fuses they have power

What size fuse are you using? You need a 30-
amp at least and #8 to #10 wire I would go
with the # 8 maybe lower, if it blows a fuwse
now you have a shorted output in your amp.
May This Will Help.

My 800 watt kenwood

Sounds like you shorted out the main power wire somewhere and killed the amp. Is the amp on the fuse intact or blown? Do you have 12 volts at the amp? check you connections and see if it helps.

According to page 7 of the radio's manual, E-02 means the amp has failed and DC is being applied to the speakers. It also says "Turn the POWER switch "OFF" and release the protection."

Amp light is on but no power to my subs!

Hi There.

When you say the 40 Amp fuse blew. Was it your mains battery fuse or was it the fuse on the amplifier? If it was the fuse on the amplifier then you may have hurt the amplifier. The Kenwood KAC-8101D is a 1000 Watt monoblock amplifier. Therefore if you say that 1 of your woofers is not playing, then it is almost certainly blown if you are sure it is connected correctly. Try disconnecting it and only running the woofer that tries to play. If this woofer is still working correctly, you will notice a drastic drop if the sound of your bass. The reason for this is because you have changed the impedance load on your amplifier due to the fact that the other woofer is not working. Have your working woofer checked and replace the faulty woofer then you should be banging again.

Hope this helps!!

My amp is turning on but!!!

you probably blew it up. Whenever you smell that smell it is almost always a capacitor in there that blew.
