Have a problem with my HP Compaq nX 7400 ( Windows Vista Business 32 Bit). I use Nokia 9300i Communicator mobile phone GPRS services to access Internet services.
For connectivity I use Nokia PC Suite latest edition 6.84 I am able to use connectivity through USB cable, but not by bluetooth.
Though the blutooth devices of HP and Microsoft is shown in the device manager, but still when the bluetooth button is switched on it searches for the device driver for the bluetooth and ask's for the installation CD. Though I search in the C:/windows/system32 or C:/HP....it's unable to find drivers and closes. Hence I am unable to use the bluetooth modem of Nokia 9300i and is not detected, hence there is no Bluetooth modem shown in the Phones and Modems in the control Panel. But I am able to work with Bluetooth in Win XP Prof in another laptop well. I gave up seeking help from HP/ Nokia...I use now only a USB cable. Can any one provide any solution...? If U have problem with Your BT (not detectet in vista,or windows 7), all You have to do is turn On BT,but not just pressing button, you have to active bt in system. If you have win xp,or other system wher BT work propertly just run it and activete BT in that system. then go to windows 7 and system will found new device.

Hi ive got a hp latop nc6120 its been formatted and now i can,t hook up bluetooth devices tried various downloads but this hp gives me a req saying requires bluetooth licence , ive since researched and hp has a built in block in their software which stops you installing windows xp drivers , there is a way round it but its not easy

Great post, I agree totally. Vista 64 bit is useless as finding compatible drivers and applications is like searching for needles in haystacks. :D
Again, Vista 64bit is virtually useless at this time and the foreseeable future as far as I can see. I am anxious for the day that the world catches up to it (so I can see what Vista Ultimate 64 runs like with the 8GB of RAM I have stuffed in my dual core Vista Box), but buy that time I will probably have built a quad processor Box. lol
Bottom line seems to me is to downgrade your 32bit Vista box to XP Pro until the world catches up t Vista (doesn't that seem backwards?).
You gotta love vista..did you check nokia's site for the vista 64 bit driver? If you find it post it here, and we'll let the world know about it

I thought I was the only one struggling...thanks ...nice to know this is the fate for all users. Just a while ago I was trying to uninstall the HP drivers for Bluetooth and then again to reinstall the HP Bluetooth software SP34275A. The drivers were installed for a series of detection, but It's unable to find drivers for 2 devices...Bluetooth Peripheral Device. I think it has got nothing to do with Nokia's drivers. The Nokia's Bluetooth Modem is shown, but when I try properties..Diagnostic.....Query modem, I get an Error message " The modem failed to respond"...any hope..?
my problem is just that i cant find a blutooth device on my system so i want to know if it has or it doesnt

i have acer 4930g.i upgraded it from vista home to ultimate..but it made my bluetooth device not recognized/detected, my IR port not working too (altough it's detected by the laptop)..but just cant receive or send any files..i am frustrated....please heeelp anyone

you can buy a bluetooth dongle from amazon or ebay they are quite cheap and compact
