You should try calling xbox about the problem especially if it just started happening because it sounds more like a system problem. you could also email them, check their website at xbox.com and go to support

http://www.xbox.com/en-US/support/connecttolive/xbox360/default.htm

I would call them if you can't figure it out, you bought their system, they should help you figure it out

XBOX 360 strict NAT problem

Make sure you also open the ports on your router. IF you have all the appropriate ports open and still have strict NAT, it's more than likely your ISP and you should give them a call.

I am setting up my Xbox live. I set up the DNS server and IP address. And a few other things but it won't connect to live. It will connect to internet though. It says it doesn't recognize Xbox live DNS or...

The DNS is your routers ip address. the secondary DNS is 0.0.0.0 or thats what mine was

you can go to your routers2_bing.gif website and enter it manually. Type 192.168.1.1 this might be it or try 192.168.2.1 or 192.168.1.100

when it shows your routers info write it down and then put it in your xbox's network by entering it manually. btw the secondary DNS is just 0.0.0.0 if it doesn't give you two. the gateway is just your routers ip address.

what else you can do is do port forwarding.
But the xbox is not a static ip address so it'll change. what you can do is when it says to put your ip address in your xbox put all the numbers the same as the routers ip address BUT DON'T USE THE SAME LAST NUMBER! so like if your routers ip address is 192.168.1.1 you can use 192.168.1.23 i use 192.168.2.15 but you may not have the 2 in yours.

I cant get xbox live ? my netwok settings , i use my routers ip address and it come to something about static IP?? and i use my cp and by verizon internet card and i try to bride my card and xbox together...

dont know the specifics but you shouldnt need to bother with any of that. just connect router to your modem then connect everythign else to the router if using cable. then just set everything to DNHP or dynamic addressing on your router and also on anything you have connected including xbox and pcs. then switch everything off then switch router on, wait a munite then switch everything else on and all the IPs will then l be allocated automaically.

I cant go on to xbox live

Check your network settings. Open NAT on your router if you have one, and its best to not have the same DNS address as you computer. Also make sure your IP is not the same as any other computer in the house

You need to plug your 360 into a router to get an IP address.

Xbox live connection

Ok go to your computer, goto START/Control Panel/Network Connections. Then highlight your Local Area Connection and right click it. Click on properties and look for Internet Protocol, then click on the properties button below. See if your IP is set on manual or automatic. If it is manual it should have the IP address showing in the boxes. Write the number down and then put those numbers in the Network Settings on your Xbox 360 Dashboard. I hope this helps.

Connect it to your router with an ethernet cable.
Make sure the router is setup correctly to your modem, if you can connect all your devices by ethernet cable to the internet then it's set.
If you are using a wireless connection and if it asks for the WEP or WPA key, make sure that you are entering the correct encryption key. You may want to call your router manufacturer to know the correct key for the wireless connection. FYI, it will say that the wireless network is connected but it will still fail the IP Address.

If you have a wired connection and the IP Address or DNS failed, I suggest you to call your Internet Service Provider to check for the Internet connection and obtain these (static IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, primary DNS server and secondary DNS server). If your Internet is okay, enter the IP settings manually on the console (System > Network Settings > Edit Settings > IP settings).

That should work.
