Thanks for the advise Skill Will, since posting my problem, I had a need (I was sick of doing the washing up by hand) to investigate the problem myself. I bought some "Draino Gel", did my sink and then placed about 1/4 of a bottle of the "Draino Gel" in the bottom of the dishwasher. I realised that there would need to have been a pump of some sort to extract the water out of the machine, I was hoping that this was not the problem I was facing. I left it in the machine for about 30 minutes then ran the dishwasher through 2 complete cycles. Fingers crossed and to my amazement it worked. It appears that it was a blocked pipe.

    Thanks again for your advice.

    Regards

    Steve

Hi, there are 2 pumps on a dishwasher, it sounds like the drain pump on your unit is not working, it may need to be replaced. . if it is in warranty contact the manufacturer, if not contact a local appliance repair company. in the mean time you can use a wet/dry vac to get the remaining water out of the unit.

The water usually comes from under the sink it is a 3/8 line from the hot side. it sounds like you have a bad valve or stuck float. check for a small round device in the left or right front corner and makes sure it has nothing under it and is pushed down

  1. Check the water temperature. Should be 125 to 140 F.
  2. Check pump re-circulation., Listen, see if it sounds like it is spraying the water around with enough pressure.
  3. Check water level when the fill cycle has completed. Should be just under the heating element. If not, possibly need to replace the water inlet valve.
  4. Check the spray arm and pump cover for splits or leaks.
  5. Check to make sure dishwasher is draining after each cycle. There should only be a little water in the bottom of the tub.
  6. Make sure the dishes are loaded properly, or dishwasher is not overloaded.
  7. Possibly try a different detergent. Some liquid-gels will bubble and a pump cannot pump bubbles.
Scrape away large pieces of food, bones, pits, toothpicks, etc. Burned on food should be loosened before loading. Empty liquids from glasses and cups. Foods such as mustard, mayonnaise, vinegar, lemon juice and tomato products may cause discoloration of stainless steel and plastics if allowed to sit for a long period of time. Unless the dishwasher is to be operated at once, it is best to rinse off these food soils. Load racks so that large items do not prevent the detergent dispenser from opening. If the dishwasher drains into a food disposer, be sure disposer is completely empty before starting the dishwasher.

Blanco dishwasher

Dishwashers do not usually complete the cycle if the water temperature is not adequate for the wash program selected. This could be due to inlet hot water not at correct temperature if dishwasher uses hot water or the heater or thermostat within dishwasher being faulty and not able to heat the inlet cold water to the right temperature. Try to run the dishwasher with the rinse or quick wash (low temperature) setting and see if it completes. Might help if you post the Model number in the comments field.

Blanco dishwasher error d06 faulty motor.

I have a Blanco BFD10X Dishwasher which had the same D06 error, being a Electrician i investigated the fault which Blanco report as motor over current. After testing the motor, i tested the motor Run capacitor and found it to be faulty, these capacitors are common to failure and will cause the pump to draw more current than usual.
A genuine replacement 2.5uf capacitor was quoted at $120.00, however i purchased a equivalent from RS online for $14.30 + delivery. RS P/N 769-4267
Dishwasher working fine again.

After dishwasher completes cycle, it starts again. It will keep going unless we stop it.

If the cycle does not stop that is usually because of a faulty water level sensor. The floater that controls the water level in your appliance. The faulty sensor cause the machine to think that there is still water inside, even when water has drained completely. Check if sensor is stuck or if switch is faulty. Some machine may use a membrane switch instead of a floater.

Bosch dishwasher fills with water after cycle is completed

Sounds like you need a new water inlet valve. It's not shutting off completely, so water slowly enters the machine even while it isn't running.

Dishwasher will not go through complete cycle it will not take water away

most washing machines nowadays have a electrically operated switch that will open to either drain or let in water if ur machine does not drain the water the machine will not go ahead in completing its cycle as the sensors sense that there is water in the drum so unless the water drains u will have this problem. Check for a click sound when the machine reaches a point to drain if that doesn't happen then it is this drain switch that isn't working

Water Will not Drain

It could be cause the water level switch. The level switch is usually a diaphragm device with a small clear tube attached between the switch and the bottom of the washer's outer tub. I am not familiar with your machine, but if you will open the rear panel you will find it easily. Clear tube from any obstruction. Good luck !
