I'd like to run my elura 100 camcorder with a cigarette lighter connection to save on batteries and for use on longer flights in a private aircraft. John

- Cosmiccene: First apologies for not replying sooner. I was off the circuit for too many months. I appreciate your feedback and others have also suggested this route. My problem is very very limited space in the cockpit of this small sports plane, so it is something I am still thinking about. I suspect in the end yours will be my only real option though. Good advice and I thank you very much.
John
John, if you need to do that you need to get a voltage converter with a wide input range like (10 to 16volts) and an output voltage of 7.5volts which the camcorder requires.
You can even make one if your are an electronics buff. Let me know if you need any help on that.

On playback, the monitor (or if connected by firewire, the computer monitor) has horizontal greyed out lines running across the scene. I've recharged the battery, used a Q-tip to "clean" the head ... can't get rid of those lines.

My Elura 100 won't recharge when I plug it in (the recharging light does not flash), nor will it start up. Any suggestions what I might try?

I have a canon elura 100. Haven't used it in a long time because I had to buy a replacement power cord. I charged it the other day and when I turn the camera on, a large vertical white line appears on the LCD or in the viewfinder. There is no picture. I tried to reset by taking out back up battery and battery pack but still there when I turned the camera back on.
