Sound delay on home theatre for singstar

Hello,

I have a ps3 plugged into a bravia 52" tv. The problem is with the singstar there is a delay in the sound through the system and it appears to be an echo when you are singing. Can this be fixed please.

Thanks

    sound delay singstar

We have the same problem with a PS2 I would have thought that the amount of these that are sold by Sony they would put up and sort this out!!

  • Anonymous Feb 16, 2009

The problem sems to be that the audio runs through the amplifier and surround system, whilst the video runs through the TV. This is causing a delay where the video and singing in time with the prompter on Singstar, is over 1/2 a second infront of the sound coming out of the speakers, and makes the game impossible and useless to play.
Pleas eadvise if there is any way to fix this????

    Thanks

Are you using the tv sound or a surround sound system through the tv?
If you are using a surround system, you may need to mute the tv as this can cause an echo/delay effect between the two sound sorces.

There are two possible places to adjust the delay, in the TV Menu or the Blu-Ray menu, probably the latter. I'm not familiar enough with the menu structure to tell you where to look.

Does this model have Bravia sync?

Yes it does per SONY web site:
http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&productId=8198552921665164630&langId=-1#specifications
BRAVIA® Theatre Sync™ technology

Sony® created BRAVIA® Theatre Sync™ to go beyond basic digital audio and video transmission. Based on the HDMI-CEC function, BRAVIA® Theatre Sync™ will be included on select BRAVIA® Theatre home A/V systems and components. This useful function reduces the hassle and time consuming job of powering up, routing signals, etc. to the simple push of one button.8 Want to play your DVD on your Sony® A/V system? Easy, just push PLAY on the BRAVIA® HDTV remote and everything is taken care of for you. Even when the system is off! Want to change from TV sound to digital surround sound through your Sony BRAVIA® Theatre A/V system? Just one push of the Theater Sound button on the remote and voila, surround sound through your system. Want to power down everything once you've finished enjoying it? Push one button and the TV and A/V system powers down. BRAVIA® Theatre Sync™ helps make things a whole lot easier to operate.

How to redirect the sound of my new LG 52" HDTV LCD to my LG home theatre?

Flemflam-   There is a couple of options here. If you are using a DirecTV Receiver or a box from the cable company then you want to run the Audio out lines to your Audio/Surround Sound Receiver. If you are running cable directly into the TV then you want to use the Audio Out Plugs on the TV. In some cases there is no Audio out but there is a Headphones out. In this case you can run a Mini-Plug to Composite Audio cable to the receiver.    You can also Call 1-800-GeekSquad and they will dispatch an Home Theater Installer to resolve your problem! They are great for Turn Key Solutions!

Toshiba HDTV + SONY PLAYSTATION 3 + SONY Home Theatre DAVHDX265

I have looked up the infomation on your TV I noticed that your TV has two HDMI input plugs. Since your SONY BRAVIA is hooked up to one port, you need to buy another HDMI cable for your PS3. On your tv remote you should have an option to switch from video 1 to video 2 so then you can switch from the SONY BRAVIA to the PS3 the problem is you will only hear your PS3 Sound from you TV. If you want to hear your PS3 sound from your SONY BRAVIA you need to buy an optical cable (also called TOSLINK) to connect from your PS3 to the SONY BRAVIA.

Hope that helps!

Please help with getting 5.1 sound from my TV!

You must run a Digital Optical cable from your PS3 to your reciever. Then press your function button on your recievers remote until you see SAT/CABLE on your recievers display. Next go to your PS3 settings and go to Sound settings, then Audio Output settings, and select Digital out (OPTICAL) then your done. This is the only way to get true digital sound from your PS3 to your reciever.
