Sa2315/55 locked up. When connected to computer I get a window that says there is a buffer overrun detected and it cannot run.

I had the same problem, the dead player would display the time of play and the number of a song that wasn't on the player. I would get the dreaded Buffer Overflow when I tried to fix the player, I had another same player that worked so I used "My Computer-Drive letter-properties-Tools-backup" to backup the good empty drive and then restore the corrupted drive, the file was about 14K in size. It worked like a charm.

Gigabeat won't connect to computer.

I was just having this problem after I installed a new operating system on my computer. I finally downloaded the full setup (updated as of march 2009 on Toshiba's website)

http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/pubLogin.jsp?next_page=pubProfile.jsp&next_page_anchor=supportUpdates

Click on product updates towards the top.

I downloaded and ran the full setup instead of the standard one I had on my computer previously. Also, I don't know if you have a similar problem, but eventually I was able to connect to the gigabeat room, but when I put it in the windows media player mode, my computer didn't detect anything. For that, I had to right click on My Computer, Manage, and then go under Device Manager (left). On the right, you'll see a list in which you'll find the toshiba gigabeat. If it has a yellow ? or ! then go ahead and right click on it and try to have windows detect the driver itself. That solved the second issue for me, and my computer was able to install the driver itself and now my gigabeat is at least detected properly and connecting to my computer.
My current issue is different now where 15 GB of my music is unplayable due to some library updating failure :(
Anyway, hope the earlier part solved your problem.
Also, make sure when you run the update firmware, you follow the instructions correctly. Good luck.

Sansa Fuze player will not connect to the computer

Hello,

The Sansa Fuze information support is on next site:
http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3249/

Sansa Fuze can connect in either MTP or MSC mode.
MTP is Media Transfer Protocol when a software program like Windows
Media Player 10 or higher is installed.
MSC is Mass Storage Class when the player is detected as an external flash drive in "My Computer".

The connection mode can be set to one of the following USB modes:
auto detect:
the player will connect in MTP or MSC mode. It depends on the drivers that are installed for the USB ports for the operating system and extra media software, if the data on the player can be detected. In auto detect
mode, MTP mode detection is only possible when having Windows Media Player 10 or higher installed.
mtp:
detection on operating system Windows XP SP2 or higher, in Windows Media Player 10 or higher.
msc:
detection on operating system Windows in the explorer in "My Computer" and on MAC operating system.

Look in the manual on page 35 = page 38 in the pdf file, how to switch the USB mode under System Settings in the player:

I need a driver!

Hello,

When connecting the player to a computer with XP it should be detected directly in Windows Media Player when:
1. The player is not locked.
2. Media Player 9 or 10 is installed and updated.

If the player does not respond or seems to be "frozen", the data on the
device might be corrupt. Then the player should be reformatted: this will erase all data ! How to format, see step 1 and 2:
STEP 1 - Connect the device to the computer
1. Remove the battery from the player’s battery compartment.
2. Put the hold/lock switch to lock.
3. Plug in your device to the computer.

STEP 2 - Format the device
1. Double-click My Computer.
2. Right-click on the player, which might show up as a Removable Drive, select Format.
3. Click Start.
4. Click OK when a "Format Complete" dialog appears.
5. Click Close.

There are also updates/reinstallations for the player's firmware
when needed.Press play/pause/up button and repeat/ab/down button
to see the software version; model number, storage capacity.

Sansa e260 wont be detected by computer

I assume that you are running an older version of Windows from XP/2000. If you can get on the internet, go to Sansa's site and download the driver from there. Here is a link http://mp3support.sandisk.com/sansa/SMC

Mp3 philips sa2325/55 doesn't work

Hola Amigo!

http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/dcbint/cpindex.pl?scy=JP&slg=ESP&cat=MP3_PLAYERS_CA&sct=FLASH_AUDIO_PLAYERS_SU&grp=PORTABLE_ENTERTAINMENT_GR&session=20080716011205_66.249.71.8&ctn=SA2325/55&mid=Link_Software&hlt=Link_Software

Si te cuesta escribirla poné en google:
p4c philips gogear sa2325 y ahí te va a aparecer.

Bajé el archivo que dice:

Actualización del firmware - Software, Version: 4.16 Inglés
Solicitud (1.34 MB), 2007-10-24

Suerte. CAETO - TUCUMAN - ARGENTINA

Philips Device Manager - MP3 - SA1125

I had this problem twice, the player keeps displaying some pixels spreaded randomly on the screen when I press the play/pause button or when its connected to the pc, while Philips Device Manager keeps displaying the error:
"Buffer overrun detected! Program: ...hilips\SA21xx\Device Manage.exe A buffer overrun has been detected wich has corrupted the program's internal state. The program cannot safely continue execution and must now be terminated." (I have an old SA2115/02 device)
When I contacted Philips about this problem, they said to bring the device to them but it was out of service.
So I tried lots of repair/recvery programs and got to a point where I couldn't even format the player cause of the write-protected error. I was about to trash it when I tried this last method :
-I used an USB cable extender so I won't brake my PC's USB port
-I started Philips Device Manager
-I began pluggin/unpluggin the device repeatedly while Philips Device Manager was loading
-after the program loaded and recognized the player without giving me the error above, I left the device plugged
-I used the repair option, took a deep breath and waited until the operation was finished and voila!

Now I don't know if it will also work for you because I tried lots of rude methods wich I don't remember the exact order, like the first time I've repaired it, but it's worth trying.

Good luck!

Connection to pc

Plug it in on your computer running Windows Vista to see if the computer detects it. If not try this:

Refer to the product vendor if it's compatible with Windows Vista. If it isn't, you can configure the compatibility wizard for older drivers.

Not detected by computer - cannot recharge battery

yay I found a solution! so I kept getting the error about an MTP device, so I did a big search. I am running vista on a 32 bit processor. what you need to download is the MTP installation programme from windows. so click on http://support.microsoft.com/kb/939211
and then just select what processor speed you need. should do the trick! I also downloaded http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=A2E73160-E862-4F19-BB26-C0CAFE798955&displaylang=en initially, but it didn't appear to work. hope that you all get to the bottom of this frustrating problem :)
