Question about Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-T1 Digital Camera

Is my DSC T1 Dying?

Any idea what would cause my DSC T1 to suddenly start capturing images like this? The viewfinder is completely distorted and all of the photos and video look similat to this one.

    Sony sent a UPS shipping label and a repair authorization. The camera is on the way back to Sony to be repaired - apparently at no cost. I'll keep you posted.

That looks like the symptoms of a defective CCD imager. If so, Sony should fix your T1 for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check the following link for more info:

All images taken are completely distortion


Hi,
It is known problem of ccd imager chip failure in DSC-T1 camera and ccd imager chip will be replaced to fix the issue.
Local camera repair shop will help you to replace ccd imager chip. It is not user level repair and camera will take apart to replace defective part.

Everything looks distorted and has vertical streaks


It is known problem of ccd imager chip failure in DSC-t1 camera and ccd imager chip will be replaced.

THE PICTURES ARE BLURRY AND DISTORTED

Camera symptoms shows bad CCD Imager in camera and this part needs to be replaced.

My camera will play back images but distorts new images

Sony DSC-T1 Still shots are washedout...almost completely white. But video recording works ok. I have checked every setting (0EV, Multi AF Focus, Multi Metering, Auto WB,OFF PFX, and default camera setup)....


Its's problem of ccd imager in your DSC-T1 camera and that part will be replaced.

PS. Mine had the same problem, and I mailed it to Sony. They replaced it free of charge including shipping cost. BE QUICK! The free replacement ends in March.
