It seems green picture tube in this Sony KP51WS510 rear projection became defective and causing this problem. Replacement of green picture tube will fix this issue but it would be costly fix and professional will do it as it requires lots of adjustments after tube replacement. Please check with local vt repair shop and ask an estimate of repair. Thanks.

Sounds like a coolant issue with the CRTs. Look into the lens of the green and blue CRTs and you should see what looks like bacteria if the coolant nees replacement. Usually the green and blue get contaminated which dims them and makes the red become dominate and the picture will get dim and out of focus.
if you are viewing from a projection tv, chances are you have to go thru the menu of the tv to 'picture tuning'. here it gives you different things that could be fixed. one to look for is 'lamp alignment'. It should show all the colors and lines with directions to bring them into focus. This should fix the blurriness and 3-d red/green/white separations. hope this helps you!

Good Day, christenand;
It is a repair that will cost from $350.00 to $ 600.00 depending on service company. It's not real easy but not hard for a trained tech. I would suspect that the problem lies in the Convergence circuit. If you call for service make sure you use an Authorized Service Center. Good Luck, big IRISH.
