It looks like your sound driver is missing or corrupt. Please download and install it from HERE. This is a direct download link, once you click the link (HERE) download should begin automatically. It's a zip file. You'll need to extract the contents of the file before you run the installer. For more details about drivers, specs etc.. about your motherboard, please visit HERE...

USB device malfunctioned on Windows XP Pro SP2

try to repair windows, only if you have tried more. like, restart the computer, or turn it off and unplug it, leaving it for a while without power, while is unplugged press the power button 2 times to get rid of the power that is on-board still. Also if you know you can jumper your motherboard to restart the boot system. any of these can help you

Operating System CD (Win XP Pro SP2)

Provided that you don't have the 25 character Product Key for your Windows XP Pro SP2.
My tip is to buy you a new one CD Kit Windows XP Professional SP2.
Here is the link also to open some bundled Product CD keys available on the web.

You can try also to do reformat your hard drive as fresh unallocated one before doing formatting again to install windows. And check your installation disk for scratches.

Error code

Apparently the XP Pro CD you are using is pre-SP2, thus causing the error. With XP RTM and SP1, you need to supply the proper SATA drivers for the chipset on the motherboard since there is no built-in support for SATA drives. You can download the drivers from http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Downloads/DownloadFile.aspx?catid=1&driverid=2214&areaid=2&LanID=0

During the XP setup you will need to press F6 to install these driver before attempting to copy the XP files to the drive. Or you could make a custom XP CD using the directions at http://maxeasyguide.blogspot.com/2008/04/preparations-for-winxp-installation-cd.html that has these SATA drivers already slipstreamed into the installation procedure.

Or if you know someone who has the WinXP Pro SP2 CD, you could borrow that for the install.

Hi my name ia rahul from india, mumbai my pc brnd new amd proccer,256mb ram, asus motherboard the problem is whic ever i install the softwae the system gets hangup

hi welcome to fixya! what particular system you are installing, is it XP sp1, XP sp2, or Vista? Configure first the CMOS before doing the the OS installation. Set everything to its default configuration before running the process. 256 MB of memory for Vista is not enough it is good only for XP sp1 or sp2. See to it that your HDD was properly connected and its not loosen. If still the problem persist, change the ATA HDD cable (it looks like a ribbon in color gray) into a brand new one, sometimes its one of the cause of hang-ups and change your CMOS battery also. If still you experience hang-ups feel free to ask a help from a service center near you. Good Day!
