Question about Toshiba TheaterWide 52HM84 52" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television
No picture. Indicating lamp flashing from red to green.
I think it's time to search the net for a schematic and a service
The flashing light combination probably represents a special
diagnostic code referenced in the manuals, which will save
you a great deal of time and frustration.
You can probably also get the meaning of the codes from
Finally, electronic knowledge without manuals will not
help you that much (I am an ex-electronic tech, now
computer engineer too), because the entire TV is controlled
There are tons of secret codes and key sequences
(from the remote) which factory repair technicians can
use to diagnose or tweak the machine, including
color balance, video and format parameters, reseting
usage timers, clearing error codes ... etc.
There may also be an USB port for diagnosing the TV
via a computer with custom software.
I am afraid that without a service manual, basic voltage
and continuity checks are the limits of your investigation.
