Question about Refrigerators

Roper Fridge problem

I heard a pop like you'd hear in short fuse with a little spark I suppose coming from the refrigerator. When I went to check I noticed that around the plug there was a black imprint and it wasn't working anymore. I unplugged the fridge and tried other outlets near by but no luck.
I am a renter, called the superintendent, no answer. I have lots of food in it and would hate to see them go bad.
I'd like to fix it myself if it's possible or have it repaired rather than waiting for a response from the super.
I reside in 10024 area in Manhattan. If you can help me to find a repair service close by or even better how to fix it I'd greatly appreciate it.
Thank you very much in advance.

You tried ither outlets andthe refrig wouldnt work??? or the surronding outlets didnt work??? if the refrig "POPPED" the outlet and surronding outlets sounds like you have a direct short within the refrig somewhere. no real quick fix for sucha thing other thtn physically checking all components looking for where hte trouble occourred

Replaced bulbs in my Viking DFS423B and still not coming on.

That was a DEAD Electrical short. If your talking about all the bulbs, it's probably at a fuse box. Start by checking all the fuses (under the hood too) Ck all the fuses anyway and that's the circuit where the trouble started if you find a bad fuse. More than one or two fuses your best bet is pro help unless you have wiring diagrams, test light & multimeter. Also look for burn marks on the wiring where you heard the POP.

Fridge keeps tripping breaker and I hear a loud pop

Unplug and keep unplugged until the short circuit is found. COULD BE:
Line cord coming in is bad. A wire is bare touching chassis. A shorted motor capacitor. A shorted Compressor. A shorted wire to cooling fan. You could start a fire or get shocked, be careful.

Light bulb blew out. Put in replacement bulb, which will not turn on in frig, but will work in a lamp. Is there a fuse top replace or a circuit breaker to reset?

No there is not a fuse I am sorry to say, you are probably dealing with a broken wire or shorted socket. If you are brave you can unplug the fridge and remove the screws holding the control box(plastic casing the light is set into) and check the 2 wires going to the light for breaks or burns. Also make sure your door switch is opening and closing to allow the light to come on.

Instrument panel out

Normally when you hear a pop noise thats a fuse giving up heh. If you lost all lighting control i belive you popped the 50amp fuse located within the engine bay in fuse box located above the battery.
