the battery is charged. every time we insert a disc, the screen says "no valid disc" and will not play any movie. We only used the machine 3 times before this happened and now we cannot use it at all.

Why does my toshiba portable dvd player say "no valid disc"?

It is likely either a dirty optical pickup in the unit or a bad one--they do sell cleaning kits--if a disc was used that had some dirt etc on it it may have caused this issue.

Wont play a disc. It will stay in Loading mode for minutes and then read "No Disc"

Try to play a music on cd instead of playing dvd. It it plays keep playing until playey got hot and drive off moisture on circuit. Let it cool down then try play dvd. If it can play severy dvd in sequence, then your unit is repaired. Keep using it to avoid condensation inside the dvd player.

We have a Toshiba portable dvd player and one day it stopped working. Every disc we stick in comes back with a error message no valid disc. Almost like the lens was touched. We are wondering if it can be...

1. 1st clean all the DVD with soap and warm water dry with a microfiber towel.
2. check all DVD for scratches at the center of the data side and the beginning of the DVD
3. Try a CD in the DVD if it plays then you have an issue with the laser reader and the DVD is possibly not fixable. ti will cost more to fix than the unit cost new.
