I could printer because the computer was not acknowledging the printer. I uninstalled the printer and tried to reinstall, but it be completed because the computer won't recognize the printer when I plug it in.

Maybe you didn't install the driver properly, i guess that model will need you to install the driver 1st before connecting your printer to the PC.
Try uninstalling the driver...restarting PC...reinstalling driver...connecting printer (while in off position)...switching on your printer.

While you reinstalled the ink the procedure did not allow the software to detect the difference.'hence I would suggest that the printer be removed and uninstalled,
Use tthe Cd provided to reinstall the software into the printer , Now plug back the printer and the new harware will be detected.
The ink will show correct and the computer to printer communication must be establised.
The test print must prove this out.

try plugging the usb connection to a different spot on the computer. it could be the usb ports dont work or could possibly not supply enough power to detect the printer.

Have you tried deleting and re-installing the driver? And what kind of machine are we speaking of?

We will experience this issue if the previously installed software is not removed completely.

Insert the software CD and click on uninstall and then uninstall the software.

Now restart the computer and then try to reinstall the software.

If the issue persists disable the firewall and antivirus and then try to reinstall.

did you clean the print heads...???

try to fully uninstall the driver, restart computer and printer. download and reinstall driver from support.dell.com drivers and downloads website.
