How to bypass parking brake

  • The parking brake wire is a ground engaged when you have the parking brake on. So just ground the wire. Make it a very solid ground or it won't work. You basically changing the grounding location from the parking brake to a different ground. When you put it on a new ground it will be active anytime. Where as with the parking brake, the wire only gets a ground when the parking brake is engaged, follow?
  • As far as just bypassing it flat out as in not using the wire you can't, not for viewing the screen anyway. The ground wire is a safety feature and must be grounded somewhere to view the screen.
  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.

Regards, Tony

BYPASS

The security device was created to avoid you from watching DVD's while driving. It is simple to bypass. Simply take the parking brake wire (blue/yellow stripe wire) and connect it to the a ground wire (all black wire). This will trick the DVD player into thinking that the car is in park with the parking brake on at all times.

Bypass didnt work

Connect the parking break wire to the chasis ground. This is a safety feature that is used so the driver will not view the movie. I have these units installed on our boats and just simply hook to ground.
I hope this helps!
