I need to reprint the last inoming fax. HELP!!!

Printing a Fax in Memory If you have Fax Storage ON for remote retrieval, you can still print a fax in the memory when you are at your machine: 1 Press Menu/Set, 8, 4. 2 Press Fax Start. 3 Press Stop/Exit. (See Turning On Fax Storage, page R-2.) Polling For details about the Polling feature, call our Brother fax-back system 1-800-521-2846 (in USA), 1-800-681-9838 (in Canada) and request at the Index. (See Features That Are Not in the Manual, page 6-6 for details.) Polling is the process of retrieving faxes from another fax machine. You can use your fax machine to "poll" other machines, or you can have someone poll your machine. All parties involved in polling need to set up their fax machines to accommodate polling. When someone polls your machine to receive a fax, they pay for the call; if you poll someone's fax machine to receive a fax, you pay for the call. (See Canceling a Scheduled Job, page 6-5.) Some fax machines do not respond to the Polling feature.

I am getting error 244 when receiving a fax.

errors 243 and 244. Taken from HP.

The user of the remote machine has pressed that machine's Stop key causing the session to be prematurely terminated. Alternatively: the remote fax machine determined there was a feature incompatibility between the two machines and has terminated the session. An example would be when the local machine wanted to initiate polling, but the remote machine did not support this mode of operation.

Solution:

1. Confirm the remote user is not inadvertently attempting to poll transmit from the local machine, instead of transmitting to the local machine. This mode of operation must be specially configured on the local machine. If poll transmission from the local machine is the desired mode of operation, confirm the local machine has been configured for this operation.

2. Reconfigure the local fax machine to use different configuration settings, toggle the ECM state and/or select a slower reception speed

I'm getting an error 244 or 223 when receiving a fax. the fax only partially prints out

Error 244:

Definitions
  • The user of the remote machine pressed the Stop key, causing the session to be prematurely terminated.
  • The remote fax machine determined that there was a feature incompatibility between the two machines and terminated the session. For example, the local machine wanted to initiate polling, but the remote machine did not support this mode of operation.

Solutions
  • Make sure that the remote machine can accept and use polling.
  • Select a slower reception speed.
Error 223:
Definition

The local machine was unable to receive an entire page even after multiple attempts to receive the parts of the page that contain errors. This situation is usually due to extremely poor line conditions.

Solutions
  • Try to receive the fax at a different time when telephone line conditions have improved
  • Select a slower reception speed.

Our Brother intellifax 2800 won't receive some faxes

Not entirely positive but it looks like you need to enable "polling" on your machine. I think it's a way to ensure they don't send out personal medical info to a wrong number by mistake. If polling is enabled, they've already determined that your machine is expecting a call from theirs.
To enable polling on your machine:
  1. Press Menu/Set 217
  2. Use Up/down arrow to turn on polling
  3. Enter the fax number you're polling
  4. Press Fax Start to dial that number
  5. Press Menu/Set
I hope this works for you. All the best!
