Question about Sony FD Trinitron WEGA KV-32HS420 32" TV
I've had it for about 2 years already, and it's never behaved like this.
the picture comes on, and i have it set for vivid, and channel set at 4
for my cable box. however, about 30 minutes later, whenever a commercial
comes on, the picture blurs to black, and then the sound shuts off just leaving
the standby light blinking four times in a row. then if i turn it on again, it will shut off in 10 minutes when a commercial comes on. then it progressively gets smaller untill it shuts off every 30 seconds.
i've already tried doing a hard-boot, and letting it cool off for 3 whole days, and it didn't help. any advice?
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Here is a list of the problems that might have occurred indicated by the number of blinks. The words in parentheses are those, which you will see for each of these faults on a diagnosis screen described later in this article.
Now that you know about these self-diagnostics, how do you use them? Say that you have a set with a black screen. You see that the LED is blinking four times. This would tell you that you have no vertical sweep, which is why the video is muted. If it was blinking 6 times, you would know that you have a horizontal fault. It's not a sure cure..
IMPORTANT: After you repair the unit, you MUST clear the values on this diagnostic screen. These codes do not reset themselves after the fault is corrected, so if you don't clear them, you'll be seeing "old" fault codes the next time you enter this screen. Clearing is done by going into the service mode (display, channel, 5, volume plus, then power ). Press 8 and Enter,
Hope this may help;

KV-32HS510 and KV-27HS420, seven times blink error code shows problem in Horizontal deflection circuit.
There are many possibilities like dry solder joints, weak capacitors, Horizontal transistor short or flyback transformer fried etc.
If you have little experience of TV repair and good solder skills and have necessary tools to test / check defective parts, then you can make it. you also need to have related service manual to see board location, schematics and part numbers.
