Black box popping up on screen

It part of the caption functions is on.Tries find in ur tv menu,goto captioning functions like CC1,2,3 and Text 1,2,3.Turn it all off.These radom black boxes and trying typing somethings,should stop.

What you have is CC or close caption.
On your remote ,just below the O.K button there is the CC button; hit that button until the closed caption is set to off.

m afraid, the pop you heard is either your lamp or tube going boom.

turn off the closed captions - you have it in text mode that will have a big black box with video on the sides

your closed captions are turned on and in the text mode. turn them off or select cc1 to view that captions

The black box is caused by the Closed Caption option of the tv. Go into the menu and turn it off.

This could possibly be an issue with closed captioning. While some closed captioning is a marquee-type text near an edge of the display, your television may have an option turned on to display a different channel of captioning that would likely display a large black box on your screen if there is no data to display. This would explain why this would take place suddenly at the same time each night, as well as why pressing the display button would cause it to disappear. I suggest you look into your menu to try turning this option off, then watch the channel you normally watch at this time. If this does not resolve the situation, I recommend you contact your manufacturer’s product support line.

You have activated the closed caption.Go in to your menu and set the closed caption to off.
