It definitely does come with a manual (in case others land here as I have!). I picked the machine up today and it's like brand new (even includes the 1975 warranty info lol). It comes with a detailed manual, much like the machines of today.

I don't think that Viking allows free downloads. I think that you have to buy one from them, either their site or at a Viking sewing center, ie JoAnn Fabrics

If you go to the dealer you can get another manual. Try going to the Viking site, you may be able to get a picture for the time being.

I didn't find anything about replacement instruction manuals on Husqvarna Viking's website--BUT they have a neat feature called The Sewing Room that offers how-to-sew instructions.
